"Hindi ka sanay? Well, dapat masanay ka na ngayon. She's his girlfriend now." Sabi ni Sophie sakin.
Right now, nandito kaming dalawa sa condo ko. Kakauwi lang namin from the mall and what happened back there is killing me.
"I know. Pero sana manlang nagsabi--"
"Kaylee, you can't be like that. Best friend ka ni Darryl so whatever his decision is, support that. He supported you all the way kapag nagkakaroon ka ng manliligaw or anything. Now, all you need to do is give them space. I'm sure it kills Darryl as well pero wala kayong magagawa. Hindi kayo related by blood para di ka pagselosan ni Jea. Saka diba, you were the reason why they broke up back then?" Sophie.
"No--"
"You were! Aminin na natin na selos sayo noon si Jea kaya nagbreak sila ni Darryl before--"
"Sophie, hindi nga. They broke up kasi Darryl--"
"Darryl never liked her. Noon pa lang, Darryl's into you. Kaya ngayong sila na ulit, binabakuran na niya si Darryl kasi what happened before may happen again this time." Hindi ako makapagsalita o makasagot kay Sophie. Bigla kong naalala yung tingin ni Jea saamin ni Darryl kanina when he hugged me. It's like she wants to throw me away. Pero tama naman kasi si Sophie. As Darryl's best friend, I should step back especially may selos sakin si Jea.
Suddenly, Sophie cupped my face.
"Kaylee, aminin mo nga. May gusto ka na ba talaga kay Darryl ngayon? As in gustong-gusto. Yung tipong you wish na ikaw na lang ang kasama niya, ikaw katabi, ikaw hinahatid-sundo..."
Then it hit me. While Sophie's listing my so-called-wishes, I realized that she's right. Everything that she said is right. I just keep on ignoring and denying those feelings pero it's there. All the feeling is there and yeah, I have feelings for Darryl. And it's familiar. It seems so familiar like I felt this before.
"Sophie, I think I'm in love with him." Then her eyes widened.
"What? In--"
"I think so." I placed my hand to my chest. I'm in love with my best friend.
Jea
"Babe, do you think we should rush the film?" Darryl looked at me... shocked and confused.
"Why?" I shrugged.
"Maybe, it's for the best." Nilapitan ko siya and sat beside him and wrap my hands around his arm.
