Stevie was anxiously waiting for her assistant to arrive. She still had just under an hour left before Karen was supposed to show up. She was nervous, excited as well, but definitely more nervous. Her mind was racing and she was going to drive herself crazy if she just sat alone in the bedroom.

Knocking on the ajar door of Michael's home office, Stevie asked if she was allowed to come in. Michael had been a little secretive lately, she didn't want to ruin anything he was planning, which was most likely their honeymoon. He had insisted, he would take care of it and she had no complaints.

"What are you doing?" Stevie asked, leaned against Michael, sitting in his dark brown leather chair.

"That's for me to know." Michael quickly hid a pile of brochures, putting them all into the top drawer of his desk. "If you're this nosey, it won't be a surprise."

"I'm sure, I'll love it even if I ruin the surprise." Stevie smiled, placing her arm around his shoulders.

"What are you so dressed up for?" Michael pulled back slightly to take a look. "Have I forgotten something?"

"No." Stevie shook her head, swallowing uneasily. "No, you haven't forgotten anything. I'm... I'm going out."

"Where to?"

"With Karen." Stevie said, not answering the question.

"I asked, where to, not with who." Michael noticed her trying to avoid his eyes. "You're going to see Lindsey, aren't you?"

Stevie took a step back and then made the distance between them larger. "I should have told you."

"Yes, you should have." Michael nodded, his teeth gritted. "Stevie, what the hell? What, you thought, I was going to forbid you from seeing him?"

"It's not that." She sighed, one hand on her hip, she ran the other through her hair. "It's just... I didn't want to say anything before I, uh..." She shrugged, unsure of how to finish the sentence.

"Before you what? Made a decision if you want him to be a part of your life again or not?" Michael scoffed, folding his arms over his chest. "You two have a fucked up relationship and I'm as okay with it as I could ever possibly be, but how do you think it makes me feel when you lie to me because of him?"

"I didn't lie!" Stevie yelled out, shaking her head. "I simply didn't tell you about it."

"Same thing." Michael shrugged. "I immediately start thinking that there's a reason behind it."

"Well, there's not." Stevie said, but she could tell, he wasn't buying it. "I didn't mention it because I knew it would be a problem and I was right."

"It wouldn't have been if you had been honest with me." Michael pointed a finger at her and Stevie rolled her eyes, which he didn't appreciate. "Why are you acting like this? Like I'm in the wrong here?"

"You're not. Clearly, I am." Stevie turned to leave, but Michael didn't let her.

"Do you even understand why? Do you get why I'm upset?" Michael asked approaching her. "Stevie, we've been doing so well."

"We're not anymore because I'm meeting with a friend?" Stevie cocked her head to one side, staring up at him.

"He's not just-" Michael paused and took a deep breath. "You know what? Go. This argument is pointless. I will never win one involving Lindsey anyway." He added and pushed past her, he stormed out.
