It was too early for Stevie to wake up, but the sweet unmistakable smell of pancakes lured her out of bed. Barefoot and with a robe over her nightgown, she walked out of the master bedroom and to the kitchen. She leaned against the doorframe and smiled to herself. Being a single father had changed Lindsey in many ways and one of the changes Stevie liked a lot was that he was no longer afraid of cooking. She might have had a hand in instilling that fear in him, but she found the many stories she had been telling anyone who'd listen hilarious.

"Oh, hey!" Lindsey greeted her cheerfully when he finally caught her standing behind him. "I was planning on bringing breakfast to you."

"You don't have to do that, Linds." Stevie smiled and pushed herself forward to approach him, she wrapped her arms around him from the back and he turned his head to press a kiss to her forehead. "It smells fantastic."

"Well, I know how much you like pancakes. Not that you ever allow yourself to have them." He showed with his spatula free hand to a cup of coffee. "This is for you."

"You're amazing." Stevie planted a small kiss on his neck and grabbed her coffee. She put it on the table after taking a sip and went over to Will in his high chair, happily making a mess out of his breakfast. "Do you think he actually gets anything into his mouth?"

"I hope so." Lindsey laughed with a shrug. "He has to learn."

"So, by that you mean, I definitely shouldn't help him, right?" Stevie asked, wanting to do just that.

Lindsey looked back over his shoulder, giving her a look. "No, you should sit your pretty ass down and wait for a plate of your own."

Stevie hadn't been awake nearly long enough to think of a good enough come back to that. "Okay." She said with a laugh and reached for her coffee.

After breakfast was over, Stevie insisted she'd do the dishes. Lindsey said, he'd dry then. They worked together in silence for a couple of minutes, but there was something on his mind that he could no longer keep to himself. He cleared his throat to speak and she glanced at him, ready to listen.

"So..." Lindsey put a plate way. "Is it too soon for me to ask, what's happening here?" He asked, leaning against the kitchen counter, waiting for Stevie to hand him a cup.

"Whatever do you mean by that?" Of course Stevie knew. "We're washing dishes."

"That's not-" He shook his head. "Stevie, don't, please."

"Well, do you think it's appropriate for me to start telling people you're my boyfriend a month after I was supposed to get married to another man?" Valid point.

"Considering the fact that you've been here the past two weeks..." Lindsey trailed off with a shrug. "You tell me."

"So, what you're saying is, you want me to be your girlfriend again?" Stevie focused on scrubbing the bowl, which had the pancake batter in it.

"I've never wanted you to be anything but my girlfriend." Lindsey replied honestly, the kitchen towel draped over his shoulder, arms crossed. "I mean, it makes sense, right?"

"Oh." Stevie scoffed. "So you want me because it makes sense?"

"That's not what I- look, all I'm saying is-"

"Lindsey." Stevie grabbed the kitchen towel to dry her hands, she then unfolded his arms and put them around her, hers locked around his neck. "I'm just teasing you."

"Why would you do that?" Lindsey breathed a sigh of relief and visibly relaxed. "I thought, you were going to make me work for it."

Shaking her head, Stevie rose to stand on her tiptoes and give him a peck on the lips. "You're right. I've been here the past two weeks, living exactly the kind of life I've always wanted to have with you."

"You do realize that you're not only getting me, but you're getting a small family, right?" Lindsey asked, even though he really shouldn't have. "We're kinda a package deal." He smiled, making her chuckle.

"Exactly what I've always wanted, Linds." She repeated and leaned in for another kiss.
