Cassie waited impatiently outside of professor McGonagall's office, she was currently in year 6. She was nervous, scared that the professor might turn her down and miss her chance of taking transfiguration for this year. Once the bell rang the black haired girl got in the class immediately as the first year students started to get out of the class

"Mr lockhart! Don't forget to bring your wand next class, because we do use it" Mcgongall said to the blonde 11 years old boy, she then noticed the slytherin student coming inside, she was truly one of the brightest students in hogwarts but unfortunately she didn't get the mark she accepted for her NEWTs level student "Black, what can i do for you?" she asked

Cassie smiled at the professor, she wanted her to agree badly "hello professor, did you have a nice summer?" she asked. Not that she wasn't interested in making a conversation with the professor but she was trying to be polite.

"It was quite alright Black, now I know you want something from me and I think I already know what it is. Professor Slughorn has already talked to me about it, I know that you want to be a Potioneer and I know that in order to be one you have to take my class but I can't do anything about it, You couldn't prove that you can take my class at NEWTs level" Mcgonagll explained calmly, to not hurt her student's feelings

Cassie sighed, she wasn't gonna give up now, she didn't want to give up. She will try her best to convince professor Mcgongall to let her take the class "please professor, i need this class you know it's important i will do extra homework, i will do anything just please let me take it for this year" she begged, knowing that her life would be only worse if she didn't help herself because after all no one was going to save her from her family, not after Sirius leaving her and her brother or after her uncle Alphard dying. It was a hard summer for her, in general last year she went through alot of stress. It was the main reason why she fell behind in her classes

"Come to me after lunch and i'll see what i can do" Mcgongal suggested as she had a brief thought on what the kids went through in that house, one of her students included and being a professor she cared deeply for her students.

Casssie let out a small smile and nodded "I will be there professor, I won't be long" she said and rushed outside to the great hall, to tell her best friend about it all. She looked around at the Slytherin table before she noticed the familiar red head and walked to her "I'm not trying to get my hopes up but Mcgongall did say to go to her after lunch" she told her best friend.

Esmeralda was Cassie's best friend since they met on the first day in school. Both of the two young witches had a similar background they met in one of those pure-blood balls, she was a descendant from a pure-blood family, an ancient one to say the least. But like most of the pure-blood families, her family was strict as well. Arranged marriages were a must to the families, to keep the bloodline pure. Both of the two young girls feared that day, the day that both of them ending up like their parents, unloved. They both got sorted into the same house which only made them bond even more. Cassie felt like Esme was the only person she could be herself with. she waited impatiently outside of professor Mcgongall's class, she was currently in year 6. pretending. She can be who she truly was and knew no matter what Esme would have her back and defend her in front of her parents and she needed at least one person to feel that with, even if they were just friends.

Esme smiled and nodded "see Cass? I told you you're gonna take the class because I already talked to my uncle Horace and he said he'll talk to her. And you do overreact to things'' she chuckled while she went through her elegant curls "there's your favorites for lunch" she said while pointing at the jacket potatoes

Cassie gasped dramatically as she threw a celery at Esme causing her to giggle while she shook her head "I don't over react!" she exclaimed and took a plate to put food in "finally, something to eat" she said since she was starving due to her not eating on breakfast because she was too nervous about her meeting with Mcgongall
