-Y/N-
"It's okay, it's okay." Steve told me. "Don't cry, Y/N."
I guess my laugh was a bit breathy and it had sounded like I was crying. But at his words, I only laughed harder.
"Are you laughing?" He slowly realized.
"Yeah." I said between chuckles.
"Jesus!" Steve sighed.
"I'm sorry!" I tried to control myself. "I'm so sorry. It's just... I cannot believe... I'm gonna die in a secret Russian base with Steve "The Hair" Harrington."
"Who told I used to be called that?" Steve asked.
"Dustin." I answered.
"Man, that kid cannot hold a secret." Steve said quietly.
"I can't believe I'm going to die. Today!" I exclaimed. "My mom wanted me to have such an ideal summer. It's just too trippy."
"We're not gonna die." Steve told me. "We're gonna get out of here, okay?" He tried to assure me. "Just... You gotta let me just think for a second."
"I always run away. I've never made it this far. I feel like my whole life has been...one big error." All humor was stripped from my voice.
"Yep." Steve agreed.
"At least it can't get any more messed up than this." I mumbled.
"No, I get you...maybe instead of being here, I'd be on my way to college right now. And I would have no idea that there were evil Russians beneath our feet," He started to ramble. "And I would be happily slinging ice cream."
"I think you still sling ice cream happily." I said.
"Nah, I just smile and pretend I'm having fun for you." He said. "I smile for you.... I smile because of you."
"Steve...." I didn't know what to say and how to respond to that. "Dustin once called his relationship with Suzie Shakespearean." I said.
"Shakespearean?" Steve repeated.
"Yeah, like Romeo and Juliet." I explained.
"I don't see it." Steve remarked.
"Exactly." I nodded, but it was hard to do lying on the ground. "I feel like we're more like Romeo and Juliet. Cause we're both gonna die."
"We're not going to die." Steve said again.
Suddenly the door opened, and the man was back.
"Where were you two going?" He mocked us. The guards picked us up and put us back sitting straight up.
"Try telling the truth this time, yes?" The man stood over with Steve. Another soldier was standing in from of me. "It will make your visit with Dr. Zharkov less painful."
The doctor that he was referring to was a man in the corner who I saw open up some supplies. The man looked old, he had circular glasses, white lab coat, and black gloves.
He looked like an evil scientist.
The doctor picked up a certain object. When I saw what it was, my heart dropped.
"Wait a second. Wait. Hold on." Steve squirmed in the seat behind me as the doctor started to close in on him. In the doctor's hands was an exceptionally large syringe-type looking thing, dripping with liquid. It was almost like a syringe gun. In front of me was what I thought was the doctor's assistant, coming closer with a similar syringe in his hand. They were going to inject us both.
