"Hayley, can I talk to you? Alone." Andy asked me.
We were just approaching the hotel with a backpack each. We were staying there for two nights.
"Sure." I smiled at him, grabbing a cigarette from the box in my pocket. I needed to cut down.
"Hey, could I get on of those?" he looked fidgety and nervous. I passed him a cigarette and my lighter with the Tardis on it. He looked at it and laughed slightly.
"Right," Andy said, breathing out smoke, "I need to talk to you."
"Go ahead."
"The thing is... Well. I've been thinking about this since we first went to that park together. And, you see... Could I just show you?" I nodded, slightly confused. He dropped his cigarette and trod on it with his boot, so I did the same.
Andy took a step closer to me. He was looking into my eyes but his kept flashing down my face. He was looking at my lips. Oh. I was against a wall; I couldn't move. Andy's hand cupped my face slightly. His face moved closer to mine; still not looking away from my eyes. He was too close. Too close for a friend. His lips were ghosting over mine, his breath warm against my mouth.
"You see, I really quite like you." he breathed.
Suddenly his lips were on mine. His warm, soft lips. It wasn't right, we were just friends! My hands itched to wrap themselves around his neck and pull him closer. My fingers were trembling slightly, longing to entwine themselves with Andy's long hair. I couldn't. I simply stood still, my lips moving slightly with his. His plump lips tasted like tobacco and something else. Something soothing that I couldn't quite place. My heart was racing and my palms were starting to sweat. How could a few seconds transform me like this?
After what seemed like forever, yet not quite long enough, Andy pulled away. He was smiling. It was a beautiful sight. I almost smiled back. Almost.
"Wow... That was something." he gazed at me. No, this could not be happening.
"Yea..." I replied. I was aware of the fact that I had unthinkingly started to scratch the back of my neck, "something that can't happen again. Listen, Andy. I just... I just can't. Not now. And we've only know each other for a month and there are a lot of reasons and I'm sorry, but... I can't."
The look on his face was enough to make me cry. I kissed his cheek and ran to my room. I was so glad I was sharing my room with CC rather than Andy. Although Christian was made to promise that he would sleep in clothes. Of course, it was Andy who made him promise.
I banged on the door, tears streaming down my face. CC opened the door grinning.
"Hayley, you'll never guess wha-," he saw my face and his grin disappeared, "Awh, honey, what happened?"
I was pulled in to the hotel room and I sat on the bed. I heard CC in the other room, panicking on the phone to Ashley.
"Dude, just get some fucking Ben and Jerry's. We have a crisis!... No, it's Hayley... Yea, I think... No, Ashley!... Yea, please... Thanks, man. Bye." Christian rushed back into the room and saw that I hadn't moved.
"Ashley's gone to get some ice-cream. We were guessing Andy had some involvement so Jake's gone to talk to him. Jinxx is already asleep." I smiled sadly at him. I wasn't sobbing, tears were simply running down my face. I think it would have been easier on CC if I showed more emotion, but I couldn't. I just sat there, salty water running down my cheeks.
"I'm here! I have ice-cream! Now what has Andy done to fuck up?"
That's when I started sobbing. Couldn't they see? It was me who was the fuck up. Not Andy.
