Andy's POV.
I woke up to find Hayley curled up against me and my arm wrapped tightly around her. I crept quietly out of my bed and into the kitchen. I was about to cook when I realised that that's what restaurants are for. I quickly wrote a small note explaining where I had gone if Hayley woke up, remembering that she had the habit of waking up early.
Twenty minutes later, I walked back into my house and dumped my keys on the counter. I couldn't hear any movement from upstairs so I assumed that Hayley was still asleep.
I rushed to my bedroom, Hayley's breakfast in my hands. I walked into the room backwards because my hands were full and I couldn't open the door. I put the plate down on my desk and turned around to wake Hayley up. Instead, I found her sat cross legged in the middle of my bed with her head in her hands.
"Hayely, what's wrong?" I instinctively went over to comfort her.
I was stopped by her words: "I can't do this."
"Baby... Don't. Please don't do this."
"No, Andy. I have to!" she yelled, getting up from the bed and pacing, "I'm not... good. You deserve someone so much better! I'm just a fucked up girl. I don't want to be a burden. I can't take this! You're driving me crazy! I won't bother you any more. I'll stay away from you and you can go back to your normal life and I'll pretend that I never felt anything towards you."
She tried to push past me but I stopped her.
"You honestly think that I'd let you go that easily?" she tried to protest but I continued to speak, "honestly, I don't want you to go. I can't imagine why you would think of yourself as anything other than perfect. You're beautiful, so so beautiful. You're talented. I've lost count of the amazing things you can do. You're an inspiration! You've saved so many lives! You're a hero. And I don't care if people say you're not perfect. I don't care because you're perfect for me."
"I... I'm nobody's hero." she muttered, balling up her hands around the long sleeves of her sweater, "how can you say those things? Please don't lie to me. I am none of those things and I'm certainly not a hero. I'm nobody's hero." she repeated, not looking me in the eye. I didn't know what to say so I simply stepped forward and hugged her.
"I don't care what you think: I don't want to let you go." I muttered into her shoulder. I felt her tears on my chest as we continued to hold each other, "don't cry. Please. I need you to be okay."
"I-I'm fine. I'll be just f-fine." she told me in between sobs.
"No, you're not. You need to know that you are an amazing person whether you think so or not." I pulled her away from me and held her shoulders, looking her in the eye, "I waited for you for near enough two months. I will not let you take a piece of me and run for no good reason."
Every word I said was the truth. I wanted to tell her that I loved her but I wasn't quite sure yet. Maybe it would be a bit overwhelming. Nevertheless, if she left me I wouldn't really know what to do. I'd continue with the band but it would all be meaningless. It surprised me how quick my emotions appeared but I realised that Hayley was the most important thing in my life right now.
"Andy, I want to be with you but you need to know that things like... like this-" she paused to wipe away a few tears that had formed in her eyes, "-they happen a lot. At home I had no one there for me so it happened more often than not. But with you guys... Well, you have no idea what your presence did for me. Especially you. You were always there for me and I guess you still are... If you want to be."
I bent my head to kiss her.
"Of course I want to be." I mumbled against her lips. She tasted of mint. Of course. Hayley didn't go anywhere or talk to anyone before brushing her teeth.
After a minute or two of me holding Hayley and calming her down, I asked her what she wanted to do.
"I was planning on eating that breakfast. It looks tasty." she grabbed the plate and sat cross legged on the bed; patting the seat next to her, "sit with me."
Hayley dug into her breakfast, pausing only to let me take a bite or two out of the variety of different breakfast pastries.
"We could go out for a bit..." I offered. We were on the topic of today's activities again.
"Oh! I have an idea! I could introduce you to Alex and Dan! I know they'd love to meet you. Luke and Leo would be thrilled to see you again, too."
"Of course, I enjoyed their company." I kissed Hayley's cheek and told her I would give her an hour to get ready.
"I'll be done before that." she told me as I left the room. I simply chuckled.
She was right. I had only been playing on my phone for twenty minutes when she appeared at the top of the stairs. She was wearing some torn and faded black skinny jeans with my baggy Misfits shirt. It was large on her and it hung on her shoulders, exposing her collar bones.
"Hey! That's my shirt!"I pouted. Hayley shrugged.
"I was looking through your closet and I decided I liked it..." she smirked. I walked over and placed my hands around her waist.
"Can I ask you something?" I said in her ear.
"Go ahead."
"Would you, officially, like to be my girlfriend?" just saying it made my stomach flutter. I knew I had fallen hard for Hayley and nothing was going to change that.
"Like I would say no." she muttered sarcastically as she kissed me.
"I'm taking that as a yes." I chuckled as Hayley kissed me again. We left my house and drove to the address that Leo had texted Hayley yesterday. I really did like Leo and Luke. I hoped that Alex and Dan would be just as kind.
As we were stopped at a traffic light, I lit a cigarette and rolled down the window. Before I could even put it in my mouth, it was taken by Hayley who took a long drag. I took it back and asked her how she was doing. She still looked slightly upset.
"I'm better than I'd usually be feeling. I lived alone in England and I didn't have any friends..." she murmured. I quickly kissed her on the cheek before concentrating on driving again.
"Well, now you have friends." I stated. Hayley smiled at me.
"Yea, I guess I do." we pulled up outside a house and stepped out of the car. I immediately grabbed her hand and she smiled.
"Oh, wait! They don't know that we're going out!" I laughed as I rubbed her hand reassuringly with my thumb.
"We'll tell them. Come on! I wanna see your band and Leo!" we walked to the door and Hayley knocked with a shaking hand.
"Hayley, why are you so nervous?" she laughed and moved her hair out of her face.
"I don't know. But I'm happy." she grinned and I kissed her quickly before the door opened.
"Hey, Dan! How are you doing?" she asked the dark-haired man standing at the door.
"Hayley?" I heard Luke say as he popped his head around the corner, "Andy? What are you doing here? And what's this?" he asked, pointing at our linked hands. I looked down at Hayley and she looked up at me. We both smiled.
"Can we at least get inside the house first?"
