8 | Morning, Madeleine

Madeleine woke up early. Maybe even too early, as it was 6:00 AM. Madeleine was overjoyed! He was excited to spend quality time with his friend. He first went into his closet and grabbed a gift, it was wrapped in gold wrapping paper with a blue bow tying it all together. He smiled and put it on the counter. He then rushed to his bathroom and started to brush his teeth a little too quick. It was quite overwhelming. He took his hairbrush and slowly brushed through his long hair. It was shimmering in the sun. You might even mistake it for the sun itself! He went back to his room and grabbed his head piece. He shined it last night so he could see himself in the reflection. He grinned as he gently placed it on his head. After that, he grabbed an outfit from his closet and placed it on his bed. He then received a phone call. His eyes lit as he checked to see it was Latte. He answered the call and Latte greeted. "Morning Madeleine! Aren't you excited for today? I'm sure Espresso is! He's just tight, believe me. Also I meant up-tight not anything else. Do NOT take it the wrong way." Madeleine paused and then slightly laughed looking away from the phone. Madeleine mumbled something and answered, "I am excited! I am glad that Espresso accepted my offer." Latte laughs and snickers, "He never catches a break!" Madeleine laughs and says, "Are you sure the theme park is a good idea? Doesn't he hate long lines and crowds?" "No it's fine! Just wear an ankle brace and you'll get a free fast pass." Latte laughs. "Be careful though, he usually goes on those that spin. There's something between him and the teacups..." Latte mumbles. "Aha! No worries Latte, I can handle it." Madeleine laughs, nervously. "I'm glad! If you have any questions about him I'll be glad to answer. You should get going now. It's been an hour." Latte says. Madeleine gasps, "Oh my! I must get going now. Thank you Latte!" "Goodbye Madeleine! Good luck." Latte and Madeleine exchange their goodbyes as Madeleine grabs his gift, tickets, and quickly changes. He brung his wallet, phone, and other random necessities and headed towards Espresso's house.

Espresso on the other hand, was contemplating on two outfits. As he heard the doorbell ring he jumped and unlocked it. "Come in." Espresso says. Madeleine walked in and greets him. "Good morning Espresso! Care to grab breakfast?" Madeleine asked. "Yes, yes in a moment. I still need to change." Espresso hurried to the bathroom grabbing the nearest outfit next to him and hurriedly changed. Espresso combed through his hair as Madeleine was hiding the gift behind his back. Espresso came out. Madeleine's eyes lit. "You look great Espresso! Quite the mage!" Madeleine jokes. Espresso slightly smiled as he says, "Thank you, I must say you look quite stunning as well." Madeleine flushed quite a bit as he responded. "Thank you." Espresso gathered his belongings and looked up at Madeleine. "Are you hiding something..?" Espresso asked suspiciously. "Yes, but you must see when we're at the restaurant." Espresso slightly nodded as he reached his hand towards the door before Madeleine grabbed the doorknob. Espresso retracted his hand and let Madeleine open the door for him. Espresso bowed his head under Madeleine's arm and walked out. Madeleine quickly followed after and started walking towards the cafe. While walking Espresso asked, "Do you know where we are going after this?" Madeleine smiled and nodded. "It's a surprise!" "Of course it is. Ridiculous." Espresso rolled his eyes as Madeleine opened the door, motioning his hand as to let Espresso in first. Espresso graciously walked in and Madeleine followed behind. Sparkling waved at Madeleine as he smiled and waved back. As a cookie walked up to them, Madeleine stepped back. Seeing as it was Vampire cookie, Madeleine moved out the way as Vampire wobbled outside. Espresso and Madeleine shared glances before laughing a little. "Wait. Did you just laugh?" Madeleine turned around to see Espresso holding his jaw. "It was just a little funny." "Wait, do it again." "No." "But it was kind of cute." Espresso lowered his brows into a concerned look and rolled his eyes. "Let's just get seated..." Espresso scoffed. As a familiar cookie walked up to them. "Hello! How much are in your party for today?" "Just two." "Of course! Follow me..." The cookie led them to a booth which both of the cookies sat on either side. "Can I start you guys with a beverage? My personal favorite is the Signature Hot cocoa..." The waitress smiled. Espresso raised his hand to speak before Madeleine interrupted. Espresso glared as Madeleine said, "I'll take a water, thank you." "I'll take an espresso." Espresso said. "Of course. I'll be right back." The waitress smiled and walked away. "So, can I see the gift now?" Espresso asked. Madeleine nodded and handed the gift. Espresso took the gift and unboxed it. Revealing a small clip. The clip was brown, with small rhinestones around the perimeters. A note was included. Espresso set down the clip, grabbing the note. The note contained a small note. "Wait! Read that when you get home." Madeline interrupted. Espresso looked up. "Hm, okay." Espresso gently dropped the note grabbing the hair clip. "What's this for?" Espresso asked clueless. "For your hair." Madeleine answered. "Well obviously, but where do I put it?" Espresso set it down looking up at Madeleine. Madeleine stood up grabbing the clip, walking to Espresso. Espresso grabbed Madeleine's hand. Madeleine tilted his head, "Other side. I don't want to show that side." Espresso mumbled. Madeleine nodded and clipped back the piece not covering his eye. Espresso slightly smiled. Madeleines eyes lit up. The waitress began walking back with both the espresso and water. As she set down both of them she pulled out a notepad, "Are you two ready to order?" She smiled. As they both said their orders the waitress smiled. "I'll be right back with them both!" As she gracefully walked away Madeleine turned to Espresso. "Espresso, if you drank an espresso, would that be considered cannibalism?" Espresso coughed, "Wha-?" "Because like your an espresso-" "I get it." "Okay so is it?" "I'd rather not know." Espresso replied. Madeleine laughed.
