Salutations! I am back from a well-deserved break, in my opinion. I might've gone over a few days so I deeply apologize. Thank you for being patient and I hope you like this chapter."Hello, Madeleine?" Madeleine turned to Espresso who was twirling his hair. "I would like to sincerely apologize for being rude to you back then. During the Theatre Project. I would also like to thank you for helping me during my process of creating the candy." Espresso mumbled. "O-Of course! I truly wasn't expecting that, I'm glad to know you are thankful for my actions. As I always craved your approval." Madeleine blurted. "That didn't come out correctly." Madeleine gazed elsewhere as Espresso just stared in shock. "You crave my approval? Of what?" Espresso asked, clearly confused. "I just wanted to be just as intelligent and powerful as you... But I will always be seen for my looks? Right? I am Madeleine Cookie after all." Madeleine sighed. "You should dedicate to your destinies as-well. I recall you saying you'd love to travel around the whole of earthbread. I insist you chase after that dream, I'm just glad you finally found a plan to pursue." Espresso spoke.
He realized Madeleine is on the verge of tears. Espresso stood up and walked up to him. Espresso sat next to him as Madeleine shoved his head into Espresso's shoulder. Espresso slightly jolted at the action as he started combing through his hair. He swore his hair was practically silk. He softly pet his hair as he wept into his shoulder. Espresso was slightly disgusted he admit silently, but after all he's done for Espresso he decided to let it slide. The waiter came back with the food as she placed down the food she asked, "Is he alright? Actually, ignore that that isn't my bus-" "He's fine. Thank you for asking." Espresso replied. "Oh, okay great! Enjoy." She smiled and walked away. Madeleine was snoring on his shoulder. Espresso, disgusted woke him up. "Madeleine? The food is here." Espresso scoffed as he got up and walked back to his seat. Espressos shoulder was practically dripping, "Do you mind we stop by my house before we go to the next stop? I should change." Espresso asked. "O-Oh I apologize! I must've fallen asleep, I am deeply sorry." Madeleine sniffled. "It's fine, Madeleine." Espresso said, slightly annoyed. "I am truly sorry please forgive me. I didn't mean to." Espresso turned. "I said it was FINE." Espresso said. Madeleine was shocked at the reaction and wiped his tears. "I-I excuse myself, I'm going to use the restroom.
Espresso didn't look up. Espresso coughed after realizing what he said. He felt terrible. The guilt filled his stomach as he poked his food. Espresso wiped a singular tear from his eye as he texted Latte. "Hey, I messed up." Espresso texted. "Is it important? I'm currently busy at the moment!" "It's important, I might've upset Madeleine." "It's literally so early! You've already screwed up? Oh Espresso... What will we do about you.." "Look- I sounded annoyed. I didn't mean to." "I'm sorry Espresso. I can't help. Just try saying sorry and say you'll make it up to him. Better safe than sorry!" "Oh alright, thank you Latte." "Anytime, except for now... But anyways, of course! I'll see you later." Latte went on do not disturb and went back to her work. By the time he turned off his phone Madeleine was back.
"Madeleine, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it that way. Please forgive me, I'll make it up to you. I apologize for my actions. I knew I was hurtful an-" "It's alright Espresso! Of course I forgive you." Madeleine grinned. Espresso tilted his head in confusion as Madeleine smiled. He looked like he never had cried. He looked perfect. His eyes were still glistening in the sun and his hair was still flowing to the slight air in the room. "Oh. I'm glad. Thank you for accepting my apology, shall we eat?" "I'd already beat you to it." Madeleine continued to shove food down his throat with no hesitation. "Hey! Calm down you're going to cho-" "COUGH. COUGH- COUGH." "I knew it..." Espresso mumbled before standing up and hitting Madeleine in the back. "I- COUGH I-I'm fi- COUGH f- COUGH- fine." Madeleine coughed a bit more before drinking water at a rapid pace. Espresso soon realized that all the customers were staring at them. Espresso backed up and sat down in embarrassment and shoved his head into the table. Madeleine laughed as he finished his food at a slower rate. Espresso, who finished his food awhile ago, was still shoving his head down. Madeleine stood up and shook Espresso. "Wake up! We still have a bunch of more stops to head towards!" Espresso looked up at him with his fogged glasses. "Okay... I'll be there." Espresso stood up seeing Madeleine set down the bill on the table. Madeleine waved goodbye to all the cookies before strutting outside. Espresso soon walked after. The cookies all looked at eachother. "Did you get every one of their moves?" One asked another. "Of course I did!" "How about you, Licorice?" "You bet I did..."
Authors Note:
Anyways, just a note. This book is during Cookie Odyssey. And also, since we're on the subject, I am currently working on the Cookie Odyssey but book version. I just need some opinions, should I write Cookie Odyssey or should I work on a book for just the Creme Republic itself? Please leave suggestions...
