DO YOU BELIEVE THAT SANTA IS REAL?
Santa Claus, also known as Father Christmas, is a legendary character originating in Eastern Christian culture who is said to bring children gifts on Christmas Eve of toys and candy or coal or nothing, depending on whether they are "naughty or nice".
Many children believe that Santa is real but as they grow up, they are gradually slapped by the fact that Santa is not real and no Santa will grant their request.
I am Ryyehc Pasucan. Twenty-nine years old and I am a high school teacher.
While i stood in front of my students, i thought to ask them if they believe Santa is real
"Everyone silent!" I scold my students as I hit the blackboard with a stick and they immediately fell silent and turned their attention to me.
"Christmas eve is near, so i want to ask you if do you believe that santa is real?" I asked.
After I spoke they suddenly laughed.
"Why are you laughing? I'm serious about my question. You Mr. Gomez, why are you laughing?" I asked him and he immediately stopped laughing and leaned back in his chair.
"You see, I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was five. My parents never lied to me about Santa. Because it's not okay to lie to children about Santa's existence. Most children have a positive reaction to their Santa discovery. Discovering the truth about Santa is part of growing up and a sign that the child is developing critical thinking skills. Maybe he exists but it's been a decade," he answered.
I smiled when I hear his answer.
"If you ask me, yes I believe there is a santa claus that exists in this world," I uttered.
The look of astonishment on their faces makes me even more interested in what I do.
I sat down at the table. " Listen to my story everyone, the story of Christmas terrifying gift."
"There is a girl who is five years old. Her parents were separated so she was forced to live with her grandmother. The other child’s requests were to receive Christmas toys, but she was different. Because what she wants to receive this Christmas is to have her family reunited. While she was living in her grandmother's house her downfall began when her uncle came home.
There was never a day that her uncle didn’t rape her. She tried to complain to her grandmother but when her grandmother found out she just let it go and tortured her even more. She had no choice but to cry and ask God to take her to her father and mother. Christmas came, but on Christmas day her grandmother and uncle did not even join her to celebrate Christmas. As she sadly dumped her grandmother and uncle's garbage, she saw a man sitting on the side of the road dressed in red and she suddenly regained consciousness when she realized it was Santa Claus. She happily called Santa and hugged him tightly and she asked Santa if he could fulfill her wish. Santa asked her what toy she wanted but the girl's reaction was sad so Santa asked her again, what she wants to receive this Christmas. She replied that she wanted to complete her family again. But Santa rejects her and tells her that he can't fulfill it so the girl sadly turns her back on Santa.
But Santa called her again and asked her why she wanted to complete her family again. She admits to Santa that her uncle raped her and her grandmother tortured her. So Santa asked the girl again if he could enter the house and the girl immediately agreed. But the girl was shocked when they entered the house Santa suddenly hit the head of her uncle and grandmother with a hammer. She wanted to shout but she could not because of fear. Her eyes could clearly see how her uncle and grandmother's brains had become like crushed meat. Santa smashed to pieces and blood gushed from his face. After santa did it Santa hugged her and told her that she was safe, he was not even able to fulfill its wish and at least he was able to save and avenge it on her grandmother and uncle. Whether or not the girl admits she felt happiness. Santa gave her a cellphone and ordered her to call the police which she did immediately. From that day on, her life got better when she was in the wall of governments. And the Santa she met was imprisoned and found out that Santa's daughter had died and raped. He blamed himself for not even saving her."After I told them this story, I was deafened by the silence in the room.
"Maybe others think of him as criminal but the child thinks of him as a Santa Claus savior."
"Santa is true because everyone can be Santa but must be in a good way," I uttered.
Suddenly the bell rang. They said goodbye to me and until they came out I could hear their whispers.
I put away my belongings and smiled. It's been a long time but I still have fresh memories of the Santa Claus I met.
Because the girl I mentioned in the story was me.
