Everything in season 4 didn't happen and Mike didn't visit.

"WILL WAKE UP, YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!" I heard my mom shout for down the hall.

I had just moved back from California a week ago, not even a week after spring break. I was so happy that we came back. All my friends were here, even he was here. Him, the one I fell for, that I can never have.

A lot of people when I tell them I would never be able to date the person I love assume things, like they are too old for me or out of my league. I mean he is out of my league, but It's because he's a boy and it's the '80s. You can't be gay in the '80s people will hate you, and you can lose everyone you love.

I finally got out of bed quickly changing my clothes, heading out the door. It was first day back and I wasn't going to wait to see anyone. I knew my mom would most likely give El and me a   ride, but I wanted to ride my bike, even though she hates when I do that.

I arrive at the school 30 minutes early, so I can have some time to find some of my friends and surprise them.

I saw the buses pull up, and saw a familiar face. The only person I've ever told I was gay, Max Mayfeild. I walk up behind her and place my hands on her shoulder.

"Lucas really funny," she said turning around.

Her eyes went wide. "WILL OH MY GOD HOW SRE YOU?" She screamed basically jumping on me.

  "I'm good, you?" I asked.

"Fine, do the others know you are here?" I shook my head no.

"Great, I get you to myself until they get here like 10 minutes before the bell," she laughed grabbing my wrist taking me to the doors of the school. "Let's go get your schedule," she said dragging me to the office.

"Mr. Byers, how are you, good to have you back," the front desk lady said. She shuffled through a stack of papers pulling one out. "Here is your schedule, and it seems your returned Maxine happier. Have a nice day," she laughed.

Max dragged me in the hall, finally I said something. "Max I hope you know I have feet," I giggled.

"I do, but why Mike gets here I won't be able to hang out with you," she groaned.  I tilt my head in confusion. "Oh right! You have been the only thing he has been taking about basically, same goes for the others, but they still can have a normal conversation without your name being brought up," she said making tiny hand gestures.

"He... talks... about me?" I questioned. She nodded. I felt my cheeks go red, Mike talks about me. I felt like jumping up and down around the room.

"Hey do you want to go wait for El?" I asked Max, she might have wanted to see her too.

"I thought she wander off from you, you came here early?"

"Yea I wanted to see everyone, but my plan to surprise to you all has gone down the drain," I laughed.

We walked to the front of the school to wait for her. Though instead of being greeted by my sister, we saw Dustin walking to the doors.

"DUSTIN COME HERE!" I covered my ears, Max was right next to me when she yelled. "Sorry Will," she pat my back.

I saw Dustin run over to us, "Will! It's good to see you," he laughed hugging me.

"Nice to see you too! Hey where are the others, and did you see El out there?"

"Yea, she was talking to Lucas, I was going to look for you. She said you left earlier than her,"

"Yea I did, my mom did not like it," I gave a weak laugh.

"Wow you running away from your mom Byers!" He pretended to be shocked.

I laughed and headed toward the doors to go say 'Hi' to Lucas. He pushed the doors and saw El talking to two people. One might be Lucas and maybe Mike or a new friend.

  "Hey El!" I said.

I instantly felt arms wrap around me. "Well it's nice to see you?" I laughed confusingly.

"Will it feels like forever!" I instantly knew who it was by the voice. I could could never forget it. Mike. I wrap my arms around him. I few tears slipping from my eyes.

"Do I not get a hello?" Lucas joked.

"Of course you do!" I agrued scarastically.

I let go of Mike, felling the warmth in my body leave. Going over to hug Lucas. "Nice to see you, Byers," he pat my back in the hug.

"Hey after school you and El wanna come over?" I turned around letting go of the hug from Lucas, to look at Mike.

"Sure, El?" I turned to her.

  "Why not?" She shrugged.

"Whole party at Mike's house after school. Like a little get together since Will and El are back?" Max asked walking up behind El.

  "Yeah!" Mike said.

Me and El were on our way to the Wheeler's house. As we got closer the more I feeled as I wanted to turn around. I didn't know why I was so nervous.

El knocked on the door, Nancy answered. "They're all in the basement. Jonathan called me as soon as you guys returned. It's good to have you home." She pulled both my step-sister and I into a hug.

It felt good to be home, but it wouldn't truly feel like home without Michael.

He's my home. Not and house or a street or a little town. Mike is my home. My home is not a place, but a person.

And that person I shall love forever, even if they won't ever love me back. My true one-sided love story. I'm happy though, as long as he is in my life.

Now I'm here, in Hawkins, with Mike. It couldn't truly feel more home.
