This is after season 4 and sad ending 'cause I said so.
Will was leaning over the toilet, coughing flower petals. Tickling his throat as they come up, making him cough more.
He was dying.
He knew it. When the first petal came up he raced to the library. Looking threw every book on rare disease, some that maybe happened one out of four billion, or every may years or so. Even fictional diseases.
There he found it, in a book about fictional diseases, for around the world, said through tales and stories, all spread by word , then put in this book.
Hanahaki. A Japanese folk tale, about a diseases spreading in the lungs by unrequited love. One starts coughing petals, the favorite color of the one they love. Then slowing the cough the petals with blood, then flowers, slowly suffocating in the flower. It all comes from the lungs.
Now here Will was three weeks after he knew he was dying, still no one knew. Not his mom, nor his brother, not even Mike.
Mike. The reason Will was dying. All because he couldn't love girls, and ended up falling for his best friend, just at the ripe age of seven he knew he loved Mike.
Will was still coughing petals, but the petals were starting to come attached to one an other. Being around Mike didn't help either.
Since they got back to Hawkins, Will and his brother were staying with the Wheeler's. The Byers brother slept in the basement, an air mattress and pull out couch, that rotated between to two brothers.
Will had had left the bathroom now, only to be greeted with concerned faces, of Mike, his brother, Nancy, and the rest of the party. He tilt his head, then it hit him. He just ran off, not telling anyone; he just dashed upstairs to the bathroom.
"Will, are you okay?" Dustin spoke. He knew Will liked Mike, Max and Lucas did too. They didn't hate him, and that made him thrilled. Dustin always had a big heart, and he understood if something was going on.
He guessed he could say he wasn't as blind as Mike, metaphorically. He still didn't he some big hints to things, but Mike. Oh God he could see shit.
"Yeah, why?" Will snapped out of his thoughts, to answer Dustin.
It was Lucas' turn to speak. "We heard you throwing up, is there something-"
Will cut Lucas off, understanding what was trying to say. "No nononono, It's not that, I might have ate something bad. I promise you, I'm not hurting myself that way," Will felt like dying, and he was literally. He knows someone is bound to find out, but they can find out on his own. He is gonna continue his best to hide.
"Okay, but we are always here, if you need someone to talk to," Nancy tried not jumping to conclusions, but it was hard not to, sometimes.
They all ended up leaving Will alone, to rest in case he was sick. He was, but not the way they thought. It hurt Will lying, but he doesn't need people babying him, or trying to help. 'Cause the only two cures were, to have the feelings returned, or remove the plant medically, neither he would get.
Time passes, day after day, week after week. Will's illness only getting worse. He wasn't coughing petals, but whole flowers. It hurt. Will was in pain from this sickness.
Will was surprised at how well he was hiding it, though thay didn't last much longer.
Will head hovering over the toilet, coughing up flowers, and gagging on blood and loose petals. He heard the door click, his head shot up. There in the door frame was his step-sister and brother. His plan was failing, he was meant to hide it from them and not let them know.
