JOLIE
Not only did March bring a hint that Spring may be here soon, but it also brought my favorite night of all the nights at the Mason Jar, Country Night! Despite the name, the Mason Jar was not a country bar. Some songs may play every now and then, but it wasn’t specifically a country bar.
Tonight though. It was all about the moonshine, whiskey, and cowboy hats. Twice a year the boys were willing to country up this shit and it was the most fun night of the year. I had stayed at Parker’s house the night before, so I had to make sure and pack my country stuff. When I got out of the shower, I wrapped a towel around my body and walked back into Parker’s bedroom.
“Hey there, cowboy!’
“Oh geez, don’t even.” Parker had on a flannel shirt and dark denim jeans. He didn’t look SUPER country, but that morning we went shopping and he picked out a cowboy hat that I knew would bring the entire outfit together.
“You know what they say, Park. Save a horse, ride a cowboy.”
He wraps his arms around my towel-covered body and pulls me onto his lap and runs his fingers through my hair. “You are insatiable, Red.”
“So is that a yes or no?”
He laughs as he buries his face into my neck and peppers me with kisses. “I love you, but I don’t think we have time for that. I will, though, take a rain check because I love when you ride me, darlin’”
“You’re no fun,” I pout.
“That’s not what you said the first hmm…” He starts pretending to count on his fingers, “Three times you have already orgasmed today.”
“What can I say, Country Night makes me all excited and a bit horny.”
“God bless Country Day.”

“Toni, I need two more whiskeys and one ‘whatever we got on draft, darlin’”
Toni rolls her eyes, “Why do these men have to fake southern accents tonight?”
“Because they think it makes them hilarious. If I had a dollar for every darlin’ and cupcake I heard already tonight, I wouldn’t have to worry about tips.”
“Isn’t that the truth? Well, here you go, darlin’.”
She blows me a kiss as she places the drinks on the tray. I take them over to the table I was serving and the guys at the table were very thankful but overly flirty. The flirting doesn’t surprise me anymore. Even the old guys that come into the bar every day tend to flirt here and there. As long as they are just innocent and don’t get too gross, I let it slide.
“Hey baby girl, how are you tonight?” I was surprised to see Eden hanging out at the bar tonight rather than resting at home.
“Eden! What are you doing here?”
“There is no way in heck I was missing country night. Too bad none of my normal clothes fit.”
Eden was only a couple of months away from Baby Mason making his appearance and she was looking every bit of it. Her growing belly was close to popping out of the current shirt that she had on, which looked like a men’s shirt. She looked so happy pregnant though, which made me so happy for her.
“Well, I think you look great. You know me, I love that belly. That explains why you’re here, but why are you carrying about empty glasses? Give those to me!”
