Jasper pov
The same old entrance with the same old Red doors that lead to the same old hallway in the same old school
Do you ever reminisce about a smell? There's something about the scent of an empty hallway in the morning of a breezy first day of school that I will never get enough of.
The sky is grey and I smell rain in the air.
Today is a good day.
People always called me weird because I like rainy days more than sunny days.
What's so cool about the sun?
Absolutely nothing is cool about it.
Walking into the building of my school I feel genuinely happy. I get to my locker in a hurry to make it before everyone crowds the halls to get to their classes. I walk with Diana and Sophia, their lockers are close by.
"So what are the plans for senior year?" asks Diana wrapping her arm around my shoulder
"We have to go to a party I've been wanting to go but it won't be the same without you guys," says Sophia resting her head on my shoulder
We get to my locker and Diana and Sophia stick around to talk
"Jasper Myers going to a party well it's official hell has frozen over," says a deep voice behind me
Remember that 6-foot basketball player that I said I had a crush on? Well, meet Jacob.
"It's rude to interrupt conversations you know," said Sophia looking at Jacob
And remember how I said Diana and Sophia don't like him?
"I never said I was going," I said looking at Jacob the turning to see Sophia with a disappointed face
"What I have shit to do," I said with a shrug
"You're right rewatching every show on Netflix for the 10th time is shit," said Diana while patting my shoulder
"Yes it is and I am proud to do it," I said walking away
The hall was getting crowded since the rain started coming down
"No! We have to go it's senior year" said Sophia with a desperate whine
"Ya you have to go the party won't be the same without you," said Jacob with a small smile while playfully nudging my arm with his elbow
"I gotta go but tell me you'll come," said Jacob while stepping away but stopping to hear my reply
Well when you say it like that...
"I'll think about it," I said smiling at him as he continues to walk away
"It won't be the same without you," said Diana mimicking the love of my life
Sophia just stood there looking at me
" I don't know why you're friends with him he's an obnoxious asshole," she says looking to Jacob who is now walking down the hall with his friends laughing
"What do you mean?" I asked confused "
"He just came over here and agreed with you about making me go to the party you also wanted me to go to, shouldn't you be on his side" I don't get why he always has to be the bad guy"Are you serious? How many times have you confessed your feelings to him?" she asked crossing her arms
"What does that have to do with anything?" I asked even more confused
"He constantly rejects you and yet continues to flirt knowing how you feel. Don't you see he's messing with your feelings, he's using you Jasper to grow that precious ego of his," said Sophia impatiently
She's right it does feel weird when he does that and the first year I knew him it kinda bothered me and influenced a lot of my emotions towards him but he always said that he didn't feel that way towards me so after a while the meaning I thought they had just faded.
If only my love for him could fade along with them... shame...
"That's just how he is, he's not being serious," I said defending him, I hate how she talks about him. She knows he means a lot and ya he has done some crap but he's human and makes mistakes and if they knew how much he goes through they wouldn't be talking about him like this.
"Okay can we just all agree that men suck," said Diana hoping to change the subject before something bad happens like last time Jacobs's name came up
Sophia looks away from me obviously not done but I could tell she was still pissed and this conversation wasn't over. It never was.
I look at Diana and smile at her
She's the glue that holds us together. I love her.
The bell rings, I say my goodbyes to the girls, and head towards my first period, math.
I know some people hate math but honestly, it's one of my favorite subjects, I used to watch my older brother Mike do his math homework and it all seemed so confusing but after growing and learning the things that used to intimidate me, I like to think back to my younger self and remember the times when a huge equation seemed so hard then but is so easy now.
My class is all the way across campus which sucks because my locker is so far away but every other class is near so I guess it's ok.
except today, when the clouds thought that it would be fun to soak meI'm rushing to my class hoping not to get too wet by the rain that is litterally pouring down. I'm so glad I decided to wear a jacket or I would be freezing my ass off. I'm about to walk into the building when my shoulder harshly meets another and I hear things hit the ground
Shit!!
"I'm so sorry," I say quickly picking up the books that dropped hoping that they don't get wet
"It's my bad I wasn't looking where I was going," said the deep luscious voice coming from the person in front of me
He had an accent?
His words seemed... curvy?... if that makes sence
It startled me at first, I don't know why. I guess I wasn't expecting it.
"H-here" I studdered looking up to the person who spoke for the first time. Ew. Since when do I studder?
"Thank you," he said with a small smile
He has a beautiful smile that wrinkled his cheeks, with glorious soft green eyes, and freckles scattered on his face. He has curly hair, not as curly as Sophias but the type that added some nice volume.
We both stand up and I am forced to tilt my head to continue meeting his eyes.
They're pretty.
Oh my God they are tall.
Holy shit he's a fucking giant
I give his books to him now nervous under his intense stare. I look down at the books nudging them towards him
He grabs them and before he could get another word in the bell rings.
"Shit. Gotta go," I said awkwardly before slowly stepping away from him and walking to my class.
Whoa
I sigh thinking about the man I just bumped into.
What was that accent?
It sounded like the type you see in the movies with the pizza guy but less exaggerated and rich.
I haven't seen him around here, he must be new.
I already know the girls are gonna have a field day with him. A tall, attractive, foreigner with an accent. They're never gonna shut up about him.
Poor guy.
