You furrowed your brows while you processed what they said.

Could Eddie have done that?

Sure you hadn't known him for long, but he just...it wasn't him. And Dustin seemed to know that too. Steve obviously wasn't that confident in Eddie's innocence. But until there was hard proof that Eddie had done these things, you'd be in his corner till the day you died.

While they went through the stores checkouts and systems, you put in your input when you thought it necessary, watching them work half-heartedly while your mind couldn't help but wander.

Back to when you lived in St. Louis. Back to when you lived with them, lived with her. Back when you were the leader of your small pack. Your head began to pound but luckily you were snapped out of your thoughts when Max (The redhead girls name, you had learned) spoke up.

"Hey guys, I might have a lead." Everyone perked up at that. "Apparently Eddie gets drugs from some guy named Reefer Rick. And sometimes Eddie crashes there."

"Sounds promising." You hummed.

"Where does Reefer Rick live?"

"See, that's the thing. No one knows. He's more of a... a legend than someone that people actually know." Max mumbled.

"Last name?" Dustin asked.

"I don't know that either." You huffed in annoyance at the lack of information. That's when you felt something trickle down the bow of your lip and brought a hand up to see what it was.

Swiping at your upper lip briefly, zoning out of the conversation, you brought your fingers back in your line of vision to see them smeared with blood. Your eyes widened a bit before dismissing it and rubbing the rest of the blood off with a nearby tissue, blinking a few times as you caught up with the current interaction.

"The cops?" Someone asked as if in disbelief.

"Really, Steve? That's your suggestion?"

"I think they should be filled in on what we know, what's going on." Steve tried to defend himself. By now, you had a pretty good idea at what was going on.

"You think Eddie's guilty, don't you?" You asked accusingly.

"Whoa. I believe in innocent until proven guilty,
all that constitutional shit." You rolled your eyes at his response.

"I just, you know, don't think we can rule it out." He continued.

"That's precisely what we're trying to do here, Steve." Dustin huffed.

"And maybe we'd have a little bit more luck if you spent less time trying to find a girlfriend and more time trying to find Eddie." Robin added, and you couldn't help but smirk.

"Somebody has to attend to the customers." Steve shrugged.

"Especially if they're babes, right?" You continued with a smirk. Robin and you high-fived.

"Hey, not fair. Okay? I attend to all customers equally, babes and non-babes alike. We've got a very big selection in here. It can be super overwhelming for people." Steve held up his hands in defence.

"Yeah, it can be." Max mumbled.

"What are you doing?" Robin asked.

"Maybe we don't need a last name." She said as she started searching through the computer. The next couple of minutes were spent going through the video stores system of Rick's that had checked out throughout recent history. Most of them weren't promising, some of them even just silly of the thought that a drug dealer would watch them, but finally, you found him.
