The next day Y/n heard a knock on her window and she stopped what she was doing, "No fucking way." She stood up and pulled back her curtains, sure enough, it was Vance. She opened the window and sighed, Vance climbed in and she shut the window behind him. "Why are you climbing through my window again, Vance?" Vance sat on the bed and shrugged, "This time it was just because I wanted to, it's fun climbing and jumping off of your house." Y/n sighed and shook her head, "When you jump down and break something, I'm gonna laugh my ass off." Vance rolled his eyes, "It can't be that fun, I mean you look sweaty all over." Vance shrugged, "How would you know it's not fun if you've never done it?" Y/n thought for a second, he was right. "I guess you're right, but still." Vance smirked, "Until you climb through a window, you can't make that judgement."

Y/n turned her head to him, "I don't plan on climbing through any windows anytime soon." Vance laughed, she sat down on the bed next to him they talked for a bit longer before Vance asked her, "Do you wanna come over tomorrow and sleepover at mine?" Y/n looked at him confused, "Aren't you in trouble right now?" Vance nodded, "Yeah, but I'm allowed to have people over, I'm just not allowed to go out." Y/n picked up the book she had been reading and marked the page she was on, she sighed and thought about it before responding, "I mean I guess it's better than sitting at home doing nothing." Vance smiled to himself, "I can't stay long. I just wanted to ask you that, and now that I have, I'll get going. Call me tomorrow." Vance pulls out a small piece of paper from his pocket and hands it to her, she looks down and it's his number. "Alright, I'll talk to you tomorrow then." Vance nods and gets up, Y/n stands up too and helps hold back the curtains as he jumps down, then grabs the overhang before he lets go and drops the rest of the way. He brushes himself off then walks down the street, he waves before he turns onto the same street as before and disappears from Y/n's view. She shuts the window and sets the small piece of paper down on her desk, picking back up her book and resuming her position.

The next morning, Y/n woke up with a sinking feeling in her stomach, she was nervous, for some reason. Really nervous. She ate breakfast with her dad downstairs and he told her that he was going back into work today, perfect. Her dad had already expressed she wasn't allowed to go anywhere until she started school again, he was deathly terrified of her getting kidnapped again, obviously. She stood up and went to the kitchen, her dad was leaning against the counter drinking some coffee. "I won't be going into work for about an hour, but I'll see you later tonight." Y/n turned the water off and placed her plate in the other side of the sink, "No need, I'm going to bed early tonight so I can start getting back into a regular sleeping schedule." Her dad nodded and kissed her on the forehead before she walked back upstairs.

As she made her way back into her room, she shut and locked the door then she picks up the small slip of paper and dials the number into her phone, after a few rings he picks up. "Who is this?" Fuck, it's his dad. "This is Y/n, is Vance there?" he heard his dad grunt, "You're that missing girl, huh?" Y/n sighed, "I was, yeah." The man screamed Vance's name, she heard a door open and faint music was playing in the background of the man's heavy breathing. She heard them start talking, "There's a girl on the line, Y/n I think her name was." Vance replied quickly, "Okay thanks." The phone got handed over to Vance and she heard heavy footsteps receding. "Hey." Oh my god, his voice- wait no. No, no, nope. This is Vance Hopper you're talking to. "Hey, I'm ready to leave when you are." Y/n leaned against the wall, "Okay, I'll be there in a few." before he hung up Y/n said quickly, "Also, I'm not technically allowed out, and my dad won't be leaving for work for another 35 minutes, so I'll just leave through my window." Vance was silent for a second, " 'I don't plan on climbing any windows anytime soon', huh?" He quoted her to herself, laughing. "Shut up. I'll see you in a bit." Y/n hung up and shook her head, she still couldn't believe she was doing this.

It was a mutual understanding that Vance would walk to her house to walk her to his house, she would refuse to walk anywhere alone for awhile.

5 to 10 minutes later there was a small clink against her window, Y/n stood up and opened her window, she had just been sitting on her bed and had already pulled back her curtains. Vance was standing on the ground, looking up at her, "Hey." Y/n looked down at him, "Hi." They looked at each other for a second, Vance was wearing his usual blue denim jeans, a white tank top, and a black denim jacket. Y/n was wearing black ripped jeans, with a red tank top and her usual beat up converse. After a second Vance placed his hands on his hips, still looking up at her. "You coming down, or what?" Y/n looked down and she instantly recoiled. "I don't know how to." Vance laughed and licked his lips, "Oh my god, this is gonna be hilarious. Just hop down onto that overhang then jump down from there." Y/n shook her head again, slowly climbing out her window. She hesitated before hopping down onto the overhang, she stood for a second, fully expecting to have broken something. When she didn't feel any pain she peeked open her eyes and watched Vance start dying of laughter, "Shut the hell up man, I've never jumped out of a window before." She inched to the edge of the overhang and turned around, letting one leg drop down before jumping down fully. She barely landed on her feet, stumbling back and into Vance. Vance held his hands out in front of her, pushing her upright, "That was absolutely hilarious. I loved every second of it." Y/n hit his arm and began walking, Vance followed right behind her.
