One night

Chapter 11: Back to school

2 months, 2 months since Y/n got kidnapped, 2 months since Y/n got saved. Everything is back to normal, almost.

After Y/n got back home, everything slowly went back to normal. Then, she went to school again, she got stares, whispers, rumors. Y/n walked through the hallways day after day to look around and see people pointing at her and whispering to their friends, "That's her." "Didn't she get raped?" "No, I heard Vance Hopper and Robin Arellano saved her." "Vance apparently almost killed the grabber!" "She didn't escape by herself?" It was hell all over again, people asked questions too, random people she didn't even know where coming up to her in the hallways and during class, "How'd you escape?", "Is it true Vance saved you and beat the grabber up?", "Did you actually get raped?", "Was Robin involved?" The questions hit Y/n like a brick every time, forcing her to think back to the whole situation, forcing her to remember the nights she spent below ground. She suffered through it for what felt like forever until it slowly died down and became old news, people ran out of questions to ask her, they ran out of rumors to spread, and all moved onto the next thing. When it was over, it felt like a huge weight was lifted off of Y/n's shoulders, she got through the day undisturbed. She even started going back to work. And, the 'missing kid' posters slowly disappeared as well, with the grabber locked up and the key thrown away, the town became safe again. 

During the first week back to school though, this kid Moose was one of the kids who kept harassing Y/n. Right before school started, Y/n was leaning against a sign and Moose came up to her. "Hey, missing girl." Y/n looked up to Moose stalking towards her, he had a grin on his face. "What was it like being in a basement for 3 days? Did your prince charmings save you because you couldn't escape on your own?" Y/n stood up straight, she had a disgusted look displayed. "What the hell is wrong with you? I get kidnapped and you're making shitty jokes about it? God,  get some humor." Her sarcastic tone pissed him off even more, Moose scoffed and people started looking over at them. "You're a loser, missing girl, everyone knows it. And a whore, you have Robin Arellano and Vance Hopper glued to your fat hips." He spat out the word 'Whore' and 'fat', Y/n laughed, her mouth hung open in surprise. "What the absolute fuck is wrong with you?" Moose stopped, he peered down at her only 2 inches away. "Be honest Y/n." He hissed, "Are you with both of them? Have you kissed them before? I bet you have kissed both." Y/n looked away from him, turning her head to the side, he was right. Moose laughed in her face, "I'm right, aren't I?" Y/n kept her face turned, she looked around and there was a whole crowd surrounding them at this point. "Hey!" Moosed turned around and Y/n looked up, Robin had heard a bit of their conversation and stepped to Moose. "Stop messing with her Moose." Moose stepped forward towards Robin, Robin looked at her and tilted his head to the side. She took that as her que to leave, Y/n turned and started walking to the crowd but Moose grabbed her shirt and yanked her back, almost making her fall, "You're not getting away that easily." He turned back to Robin, "You think you're so tough, huh?" Kids started yelling "Fight! Fight! Fight!" Finney pushed his way to the crowd and stood near Robins end, he and his sister Gwen watched. Finn and her made eye contact and he was trying to get her to come over to him but she just shook her head, if she tried to leave again Moose would just drag her back, Moose was also twice the size of her, she could fight but not that well. Robin looked back at Moose, "Let's find out." Moose sneered, "I will pound you, like a nail you scrawny little bitch." Robin stood there, he kept his face blank. "Then do it." 

Moose took a quick look around then looked back at Robin, "Unless you're scared." Moose swung and Robin ducked, Robin got a punch on his side and Moose held his stomach. Robin dropped his bag on the ground then turned and kicked Moose, Moose flung around and Y/n just barely stepped out of the way to dodge him as Moose leaned against the pole. Robin had his fists up, Moose turned around after a second and swung again but Robin blocked it with his forearm and punched him in the gut. Kids were 'oouing' and the crowd had doubled, Moose got his hands around Robins waist and was trying to punch his sides. Y/n saw Gwen smiling, "Get him Robin!" Robin grabbed one of Mooses hands and flipped him around and up so they were back to back, Robin had a hand around his neck and the other was pulling the hand he had grabbed, Robin kept pulling until Moose ran out of energy and then Robin dropped him onto the ground. Robin grabbed his shirt and punched him in the face, the whole crowd started cheering him on, Robin kept punching him. He kept punching him over and over until he got in about 20 good hits and Moose had blood all over his face and it was dripping onto his shirt. Robin stood up, grabbed his bag and walked over to Y/n, "Jesus, Robin." He shrugged and they walked into school, Y/n was mad at him the whole way inside, she complained to him that it was fine and he didn't need to do that but Robin just shrugged it off. They seperated to go to first period then after, her and Robin were walking the hallways when they watched Finn jog into the bathroom and 3 guys follow him inside. They looked at each other and both walked in, Y/n ducked her head low so she could sneak inside the boys bathroom. 

Robin and Y/n walked in the bathroom to Finn being cornered by the 3 guys, Robin and Y/n stood in front of the guys and they stared at Y/n, probably because she wasn't meant to be in their bathroom. "Dipshits, move." Robin stared at them and they seperated, Y/n followed Robin over to Finney. "Hey Finn." Y/n leaned against the wall next to a sink that Robin started washing his fist off in. "What's happening?" Robin looked at him in the mirror then looked down, "You know just, keepin on keepin on I guess." Robin glanced at the guys before turning back to the sink, "Uh-huh. Moose got some damn sharp teeth. Knuckles bled all first period." The boys started walking out and Y/n stood up off the wall, "Wait." The guys turned around and stopped walking at her voice, she turned to Robin and nodded towards the boys. Robin looked up at the mirror, "Fuck with Finn again," He turned to the guys, while drying off his knuckles. "I fuck with you." The guys all stood there dumbfounded, staring at each other. Y/n laughed, "You can leave now." They all glanced at her before leaving. That was probably the only interesting day Y/n had after coming back.

The next week is when people stopped talking about her, it had felt like forever but was only around 2 weeks, Y/n was just glad it was over. Though she still checked over her shoulder while walking to school, and the other kids still didn't play outside, everybody was still seemingly on edge though they stopped bothering her about it. Robin and Vance took turns walking her to and from school and her shifts, they were both very serious about never leaving her alone again. Vance and Y/n didn't mention the sleepover again either, they kinda just pretended it didn't happen, though now there was most definitely a new type of tension between each other. 

After school on a Friday, Y/n was working a shift with Robin and Vance both at the store. Vance was playing pinball, obviously, and Robin was talking with Y/n to keep her interested. There was a loud bang then the Pinball Machine sounds stopped suddenly, Y/n looked behind Robin and Robin turned around, Vance was standing in front of the machine, he had his fist balled up and he stared at it before turning around slowly. "Your machine broke." Y/n looked at him, she didn't even know what to say. How the hell did he break it. "What the fuck did you do Hopper?!" His friend was laughing, "He got so mad he hit the side of the machine and it powered down." Y/n stared at him in disbelief, she was so fucking pissed. "If I get fucking fired because of you, I swear to god I'm gonna murder you." She walked around the counter and pushed Vance out of the way, she looked down at the machine and sure enough, it was powered down completely. "How hard did you hit it?" Vance shoved his hands in his pockets and stood off to the side. "Not that hard, I don't think. Look, it's not my fault the piece of shit's poorly made." Y/n stood up straight and sighed, closing her eyes.

5 minutes later there was a "OUT OF USE" Sign taped to the glass of the machine. "Now, you can't play Pinball at all." Vance sighed and rolled his eyes, he followed Y/n and stood at the counter as she walked around it and sat back down. Robin had gone down some isles to search for candy, "I can't believe you called me 'Hopper', it sounded weird." Y/n flipped through the book she had been reading to find the page she stopped at. "Well I was really mad at you." Vance smirked and watched her flip through the pages, Robin came back and paid for the candy then started eating it, he gave some to Y/n and Vance. They all talked until the end of her shift, Y/n closed up and said her goodbyes to Vance, Y/N and Robin walked to his house.
