After taking the keys from my dad and putting my school into the GPS, I start to drive the 10-minute trip.

My dad always took me on drives and eventually taught me but it wasn't til the 16th birthday that I drove legally.

I am kind of nervous because school was out of the picture for a while and I was so used to having a tutor but it's time to get back to the basics.

I arrive at school and park in the student parking. I get out and lock my car while walking inside.

I open the front doors and get stares immediately. I never really noticed my looks, I didn't think I was the most beautiful but I didn't think I was ugly either.

I saw one girl look at me and turn to her friends to whisper. Wow, they have no shame.

I start to walk to what looks like the front office. "Hi my name is Kayla Tyler, I'm the new student" I go up to the reception lady.

"Hello dear," she fixes her glasses. "Right, here is your schedule and locker number with the code" she hands me a piece of paper.

"Thank you" I take it and start to walk. The first person I talk to and so far a good impression.

As I read my paper while walking I bump into someone. To my bad luck, it wasn't just a bump. I was about to fall back when a hand grabs my wrist and pulls me back to my feet.

"You should watch where you're going" I look up at the deep voice boy.

"Sorry" I apologize and look down at his hand still holding my wrist. He's wearing 3 rings on his right hand on his index, thumb, and ring finger.

He lets go and picks up my paper and hands it to me. I admire his face. Black hair and greenish-blue eyes and a blank face that shows his jawline.

"Thank you" I take it. He nods and walks away. I stand there just shocked. He's something.

"You're drooling" a girl walks up to me with two girls behind her.

"Oh" I wake up from the daydream. "Who is that" I look over in the direction he walked in.

"You're new aren't you" she laughs. I nod. "Well if you have to know, that is my boyfriend, Chase Connor and I am Ava Lions so of course, he'd be with me," she says.

"So why aren't you walking with him" I question.

"We have different classes right now," she says nervously.

"Sure," I say playfully.

"Just keep your distance okay?" she points.

"If I happen to run into him, that won't be my fault" I shrug and walk away.

I hear her scoff and I smirk, reading my locker number. I get to my locker and put the code off the paper. I open it and I didn't have anything to put in there so I just close it for now. I start to walk to my homeroom which is English.

The bell rings and I walk in and take a seat at the back. The teacher stands from her chair and goes to the door. The late bell rings and she closes her door but doesn't lock it.

"Good morning class, today we are just gonna be finishing up on The Scarlet Letter and I hope you guys finished because I will be asking questions" she holds up a paperback book.

I've already read it probably three times. The first time was to try and read a new book. The second time was to understand it. The third time was just to see it from another perspective.

"We have a new student, would you like to introduce yourself," she says to me.

"Hi, my name is Kayla Tyler," I tell her.

"Welcome," she smiles and sits down.

After about 45 minutes of fake reading, the door opens. "Mr. Martin, you are late," she says to the blonde-haired boy and green eyes.

"Yea I was helping the environment Ms. Louis and might I say, you look wonderful today" he closes the door.

"Well thank y-" she realizes. "No that's the third time this week next time its detention" she types on her computer, probably putting in his attendance. "Now Parker, go sit next to Kayla over there" she points towards me.

He walks over to me and sits right next to me. He looks over at me and holds out his hand. "Names Parker," he says. "You're new, aren't you" he smiles.

"Hi, yea I am," I say awkwardly at the déjà vu and I shake his hand.

"Ok I think that's enough time for reading, so can anyone tell me who is the worst person in The Scarlet Letter and why?" Ms. Louis stands from her chair.

Everyone was silent and that went to random picking. "Fine, Parker who do think and why?"

"I think it was Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale because he falls in love with Hester and commits the sin of adultery" he finishes.

I scoff at his explanation. "Anything to say Ms. Tyler" Ms. Louis turns to me.

"That doesn't make sense" I shrug.

"What?" Parker turns towards me.

"Well the question is the worst person and technically that means who took the cake on being hated. If we're looking for the worst person then it would be Roger Chillingworth. He committed worse than Hester and Arthur" I say in confidence.

"How" Ms. Louis questions.

"The main theme is about sin and punishment and Roger committed blasphemy against the Holy Spirit so in cases, he committed the unforgivable sin, which is the worst thing that happened" I cross my arms.

"Someone has done their reading" Ms. Louis claps and goes behind her desk. "Due to that amazing explanation, we can move on to the next part of the curriculum" she smiles.

"Thanks for boosting her teaching ego" Parker smiles at me.

"No problem" I make a small smile back.

After class was over the bell rang and everyone got up quickly. I walk towards my next class for the day which was P.E sadly. I go to the locker room and walk up to the coach.

"Hi I'm new" I smile.

"And?" he obnoxiously chews his gum.

"I was wondering about the gym clothes" I point to other students.

"The other girls will show you inside the locker room" he fixes his cap.

"Okay" I walk away and go to the locker room.

"Uh do any of you know where I can get gym clothes," I ask.

"Yea" A girl with brown curls and hazel eyes goes to a closet and comes back out. "Hope you're a medium" she hands them to me.

"Thanks" I take them and go to the bathroom.

I finished getting dressed and put my clothes into an empty locker and leave the locker room.

I walk over to the bleachers and sit at the bottom. I hear the bell ring and the whistle blow. "Ok today we are playing dodgeball," the coach with the mustache says.

Oh no.
