After that encounter, I finally have the courage to call the person who gave me a calling card. I want to work again. I want to earn money because hindi nalang sarili ko ang dapat kong isipin, I have a life inside my womb, I have my baby. My little peanut.
I dialled the number written on the card. After a few rings, someone picked it up.
"Hello, this is Kendra Cornelio from CL Hotel and Restaurant. How may I help you? " a sweet voice answered the call.
"Hi, Good day! I'm Laciah, Mr. Labrasca knows me. I just want to talk to him. Thank you. And I don't have any appointmen, I guess, I need one? " sagot ko naman dahil bigla akong nahiya dahil wala pala akong appointment, gosh bakit ko nakalimutan yun?
" Okay ma'am, just give me a minute. I will just call his secretary. Hold on ma'am." she excused herself. Sana naman makausap ko boss nila, If I have to beg, gagawin ko. I already prepared my resume and other requirements. I just want to talk to him, to inform him.
After a few minutes, the woman came back.
"Ma'am, I will connect Mr. Labrasca now on our call. Have a nice day!" she said sweetly. She thanked her.
"Hello, this is me Laciah, How are you?" The other line voice said, I know it's Clazen.
"Hi, good day. I'm good... " I said shyly, bigla akong nahiya.
"What's the matter? Do you need my help? I mean, my offer?" he asked again in his rough voice.
"Ah, oo sana, napag-isip isip ko rin kasi na makakatulong sakin yung inaalok mo may pagkakagastusan kasi ako." Sabi ko gamit ang maingat na pananalita. Nakakahiya naman kasi talaga.
"That's good! Ano kailan mo gusto mag-start. Actually, temporary secretary lang ang meron ako ngayon. So, that's the position na pwede? Okay lang ba sayo?" he asked me using his monotone voice. Sino ako para tumanggi sa trabaho diba? Di naman nakakasira ng dangal yung trabaho.
" Ofcourse, yes. I will give you my resume and other papers tomorrow. Thank you talagaa!!" nagagalak na sabi ko.
After that call, I hope mabaling na sa iba ang mga nararamdaman ko. I know someday, I will be happy not until that day...
