16 - Sports Festival

The UA Sports Festival. Before quirks the olymics were the sporting competition that everybody watched but they were eventually taken over by the Sports Festival.

The Sports festival is where every student in every course, separated by grade, come together to compete and show off their skills.

For me, this was a complete shit show.

"Midoryia. Come see me after class." Oh great, just what I needed.

At the end of the day I walked up to the podium while the others were putting their books away.

"What's your plan?" He asked softly.

"I figured All Might would tell me no."

"He's not going to. This even is seen by almost everyone and if they saw that discrimination it would ruin him so he won't."

"Well then I'll just make sure I get eliminated in the first round."

"That's now how that works, you know."

"Well it seems like a good plan to me. I don't get hurt and people don't have to worry why that one kid isn't using a quirk."

"Just," he punched the bridge of his nose, "just try a little bit please. I get it. I was in the same position as you but just give it a shot, alright?"

"Whatever you say, sir." I walked back to my desk and picked up my bag. Katsuki was waiting outside of the door for me.

"What did the hobo want?" He asked.

"Wanted me to try in the festival. He knew I wouldn't."

"Well he is smart. I guess that means he isn't telling you no to competing then?"

"Apparently."

It was time. The class was waiting by the entrance to be called out onto the field.

"AND NOW! INTRODUCING CLASS 1-A!! OUR FIRST YEAR HERO COURSE!" We walked out together and slowly the other classes followed while being announced.

"Our first event will be...an obstacle course!" Midnight announced.

Well shit.

We were all funneled into a small hall while we waiting for the go signal.

This was a test, wasn't it? They were seeing how we reacted to be put in a small space. This was being broadcasted on television so I would have to act like I didn't know or care about any of these people while also fitting in with the people I did know.

"GOOO!"

Everyone yelled and tried to push forward to get to the front. Suddenly, the ground froze, leaving me stuck in the thick ice. I used the other people around me to push myself upwards and I pushed my way to the front while the rest of them tried to get free themselves.

I caught up with Todorki, Yaoyorozu, Mineta and most of the class actually. We were all running forward when Mineta got hit from behind by a giant robot.

"So this is what they used in the general entrance exams?" Todoroki muttered. He shot a huge wall of ice at one of the robots, freezing it on the spot.

Katsuki blasted himself above and over the robots.

While the others were thinking of ways to get around I climbed up the front of one and slowly climbed back down the other side. I continued running until I hit the next obstacle.

"OUR CONTESTANTS HAVE REACHED THE FALL!"

Was this really safe? There were small ropes attached to huge rock platforms and they seemed endless. I was roughly in front but this would slow me down a lot. I did my best to run across them while keeping my balance and eventually made it across. I climbed up the staircase and was met with a minefield.
