The Last Breath

Goodbye, Daniel

I couldn't believe that my parents died, I knew something was wrong, but I didn't expect this to happen.

*Door Knocks*

'Go away, I'm too upset to talk right now' I said feeling depressed

'Cassie, it's me Daniel, please open up, I need to talk to you.'' Daniel said

I got out of bed, and opened the door.

"Oh, Cassie I'm so sorry'' Daniel said hugging me so tightly.

''just hear me out okay, and I know this is going to be tough but...''

''Daniel. Daniel please tell me what's wrong'' he held my hand

''Cassie, you have to go to an orphanage'' Daniel said with pain in his voice

I looked at him shocked, unable to say a word, I felt like my heart broken into millions of pieces.

'' But what about you'' I said crying with tears

''I have to stay here and fight for the war'' Daniel said trying not to cry

''But Daniel I don't want to leave, I want to stay here with you'' I said heartbroken

''Cassie, look at me, I promised you I will write to you everyday, and you will write to me back. Now listen, you leave tomorrow, and I have been told I will be arrested if I refuse any of this. Finish your packing, and get some sleep okay?'' Daniel said in tears

I couldn't rest, I want to stay here with my brother, I didn't want to leave Cotswold either.

5AM

*Door Knocks*

''Hello My name is Mrs Pillsbury, I'm here to pick Cassie Green. Is she here? We have quite a travel to Dartmoor.'' Said Mrs Pillsbury

''Yeah, she's upstairs, I'll go get her.'' Said Daniel looking really depressed

*Door knocks in Cassie's room*

''Cassie it's time to go'' Said Daniel trying not to break in tears

I gave my Brother, one last hug, knowing I may never see him again

''You be a good okay? I'm going to miss you so much. And I promise you I will write to you" said Daniel with tears sliding down his face.

'' I'll miss you too, I'll write back, Promise me you'll be safe'' I said in distress

Daniel walked me to the car

''Goodbye Cassie'' Daniel said

''Goodbye Daniel'' I said

'' Please take good care of my sister.'' Said Daniel to Mrs Pillsbury

''Yes Sir'' Said Mrs Pillsbury

I waved goodbye to my brother Daniel one last time as we drove off to Dartmoor.
