Dec didn't know what to do.

Should he follow Ant?he could try,but he had no idea where he had gone and it wasn't like Dec knew New York at all and he was scared to go out in a strange city at night.

Ant didn't know it at all either and that worried Dec.

But Ant was upset and angry and maybe it was better that Dec left him alone until he calmed down and hopefully came back.

Dec was devastated by Ant's reaction,he had honestly expected him to be more understanding of his predicament and hoped that they could have talked it through rationally, but that couldn't have been further from what happened.

So he lay back down on the bed, burying his face into Ant's pillow that still held his scent and sobbed uncontrollably.

Eventually Dec fell asleep, exhausted and frightened, alone in a foreign country, not knowing what to do,he could only dream of home and pray that Ant was safe.

He flickered his eyes open as the sunlight peeked through a gap in the raggedy old curtains and rolled over,it was obviously morning now and he must have slept for a good few hours,so he expected Ant to be asleep beside him.

But he wasn't!

Dec was now terrified for Ant's safety,so decided that now that it was light,he might just walk around the block to see if there was any sign of him,he was too nervous to go any further than that and began to wonder how he ever thought he could have started this new life alone, although that had obviously been the plan before he met Ant,but now it just seemed crazy.

Dec noticed that it was a different person on reception from last night.

"Good morning sir" the friendly woman smiled.

"Good morning ma'am" Dec replied politely.

"Can I help you with anything?" She enquired.

"I'm looking for my...my brother" Dec stated "he's a little bit taller than me,dark hair like me...um...very good looking, have you seen him?"

"Sorry sir" the woman replied "I've barely seen anyone since I started my shift and certainly no one who fits that description...well,except you"

Dec looked at the woman suspiciously.

Was she flirting with him?

If she was,she was wasting her time, all he wanted and needed was Ant,but he could be anywhere.

"Ok,thank you" Dec nodded "he was upset last night,we've been through a lot,I guess I'll go and see if I can find him"

"Oh" the woman exclaimed "were you on the Titanic?it's all anybody is talking about, such a terrible tragedy"

"Yeah,we were" Dec confirmed "and it is a tragedy, such an unnecessary loss of life"

Dec was deep in thought for a moment and the receptionist placed her hand on his on top of the wooden counter.

"I'm so sorry" she smiled sympathetically.

"Er...yeah,thanks" Dec replied while quickly pulling his hand away "I'll be seeing you"

The woman watched fascinated as Dec left the building,it wasn't very often that such good looking men frequented the hotel and she found herself quite breathless.

"I hope you find your brother" she called out,but Dec was already out the door.

New York City was waking up as Dec strolled around the block, not that it ever really went to sleep.

Dec breathed in the aromas coming from various places,he always liked the smell of coffee, more than he liked the taste really and someone, somewhere nearby was cooking bacon.
