A gunshot near us made me flinch and I immediately moved my hand to my waist where my non existent gun was now secured.
Fuck.
"Caspian duck!" Vesper screamed and pulled me down as a bullet zoomed over our heads.
I fell and hissed as a sharp pain shot up my arm. I was in no position to protect myself let alone Vesper. The hitman pointed his gun and I pulled Vesper behind me.
If I was going to be shot, then atleast he could use me as a sheild to protect himself.
"Dumbass" Vesper breathed on my neck and pulled me behind him from my good arm, and shot the hitman in his thight without a second's hesitation.
I stared in disbelief registering the pool of blood around the hitman and the fierce look in Vesper's eyes.
A sweet buttercup like him knew how to shoot?
"Caspian are you okay? Your arm is bleeding again!" Vesper turned to face me his eyes immediately changing from anger to worry.
"I-" he crouched down infront if me, helping me stand up when Viper ran in with the guards behind him.
Immediately guns were pointed, some on the bleeding hitman on the floor and all others on the tall boy, crouching in front of me
"Drop the gun" Viper hissed, moving his fingers on the trigger.
"No" Vesper growled and slowly turned back, pointing the gun directly at Viper's head.
Did I misjudge Vesper? Was he an assailant?
"Get away from him if you want to go back unharmed!" Alina shouted, walking in with another group of men and Vesper moved closer to me.
"Caspian are they friends or enemies?" he asked, his scared eyes, looking into mine and I at once knew that his bravery was all a facade.
"Friends"
He dropped the gun and put his hands up.
"Put your guns down" I said, putting my arm around Vesper's neck and putting half of my body weight on him.
Why do actors run in movies after getting shot? Fuck, I wasn't even shot properly and could already see my end approaching.
Why the hell was my body feeling weak when it was my arm that had been shot?
"Boss he might be sent by Adriana" Viper said through his teeth, his calculating green eyes, sending me the signals to step back from Vesper but I shook my head.
