"Hopefully it isn't too late, Luckily for you I'm patient. I'm ok with you making me wait and. As long as you're near, I'll be here. Even if it takes ten years"

"Do you think you're quite ready for this, Your Majesty? It has been some time since you've navigated these waters." Lucienne questioned as the three stood on the docks that lead to the ocean of dreams.

"Do you think I've forgotten how?" Morpheus asks

"No, but... " She replies, sighing

"I cannot ask The Fates for help without giving them something in return. There is nothing left to give from The Dreaming. I have to gather my offerings from the dreams of others." Morpheus explains and Atlas contemplates weather this is a good idea or not.

"We understand, Morpheus. It's just that, in your absence, these waters have become darker, treacherous, unsafe." Atlas explains as the pier creaks.

"These waters are as much a part of me as I am of them. Gregory's sacrifice will not be in vain." Morpheus says, kneeling down. On his right palm is a pool of sand which he sprinkles into the water.

He watches as his reflection begins to deform into one of his nightmares and reaches down to touch the water only to get pulled in. And as much as Atlas wanted to go check on him, she knew he would be ok.

You were right, Atlas, Lucienne. The Dreams and Nightmares no longer seem to recognize their master. I will remind them and take from them what I require.

Morpheus quickly swam away from the nightmare, feeling himself dive into the dream, one belonging to a farmer.

Since one meets The Fates at a crossroads, I find one in the dreams of a Cambodian farmer.

Morpheus's hand enlarges as he pulls out a crossroad, uprooting it from the soil and earth before falling into another dream. One where a soldier places the rope of a gallow around his neck and pulls the lever...

The gallows come from a young Japanese cinephile, her head full of British horror films.

...sending him down into a tunnel leading into another.

The currents are stronger and faster than I remember. I have to focus. Open my eyes and see what The Fates require. A serpent...

Morpheus is now in the nest of a serpent, as the snake goes to strike and protect her egg, he captures it into his coat before noticing the egg and taking it along with him as well.

...a symbol of transformation, of life, death and rebirth. I have gathered my offerings. Now, it is up to The Fates.

Time skip...

Standing at the edge of the palace, a thunderstorm in the sky, Morpheus speaks.

"I, Lord Morpheus, Dream of The Endless, summon The Fates..."

Thunder roars, as a woman is seen in the distance appears.

"..the Three-Who-Are-One"

Thunder roars again, as a woman is seen closer, than before.

"the One-Who-Is-Three."

"The Hecate" with this, the Fates, who consisted of three sisters appeared. One young woman, one middle-aged woman and one elderly woman.

"Morpheus, Atlas, it's been a while." The young woman spoke.

" You look thin, loves. Are you eating? Are you hungry?" The middle-aged woman asked with fake concern.

"He is, but not for food. Look at him. He wants something." The older woman spoke with a grin.

"You have found us out, it seems that we  need something" speaks Atlas who had walked to stand beside Morpheus.

"I need your help." Morpheus asked

"Help? Oh, listen to him. Like you helped us against Circe?" the old woman spoke

"Circe is old business, sister-self." the middle-aged woman stated

"And he did bring nice stuff." the young woman spoke

The old woman than signaled Morpheus to hand over the snake, that slithered out of his pocket and into the woman's hand.

"You may ask us three questions" The middle aged woman spoke

It's slithered it's way around there hands before entering through there mouths as the thunder bellowed.

"And get one answer from each of us" The young woman said after gulping the snake down.

"Thank you, ladies. My first question. I had a leather pouch filled with sand. Where is it?" Morpheus asked and suddenly he was in the middle of a foot path, Atlas beside him, both watching as people walked by.

Among the people, was a woman in a white coat holding an umbrella to shelter herself from the rain.

"It was sold in London. Last purchased by a magic user called... Johanna Constantine." the young woman spoke as Atlas and Morpheus examined the lady.

"Constantine... I knew a Constantine, but that was 300 years ago. You said "last purchased. Does she still have the sand?" Morpheus continued but the young woman only laughed.

"Dream, you know better than that." the young woman said and Morpheus apologized.

"The second question." Atlas spoke

"Go on, dear." The middle aged woman said

"The helm. What happened to it?" Atlas asked

"It was traded away to a demon, for the Amulet of Protection." The middle-aged woman explained as the two saw images of a woman known as Ethel Cripps, performing a dark spell and trading it, causing an explosion to happen and an amulet to appear.

"To which demon was it traded?" Morpheus asked

"One question, one answer, love." the middle-aged woman tskd.

"Last question. My ruby, who holds it now?" Morpheus asked

"Your gem was passed from a mother to a son." the two watched Ether Cripps once more as she dangled the ruby over her son who tried to catch it.

"Where are they now?" Morpheus asked but his time was up.

"You have asked your questions!" The three in one yelled as the thunder clapped.

The sound of footsteps approaching  was heard as Lucienne walked over.

"My Lord, you didn't give it to The Fates." she said, speaking off the egg.

"Because it was not meant for them." Atlas smiled, lifting the egg before placing a delicate kiss on it and then handing it over to Morpheus who had willed it to got to its new home. For inside it was a baby gargoyle.
