Trouble Brews

It has been a few days since Leon had met Konepup. Everything has been great so far, it was almost like Konepup was his lucky charm. He even- surprisingly- remembered to grab his flashlight in case there were to be a Blackout or Power Outage. His mental health had gotten better, taking breaks more often just to play with the little lime green Slimepup (his boss was fine with it because he has seen the improvement in Leon's mood) and getting more rest.

Back to the present, now. Leon was on his guard shift, ordering people around to their posts and keeping them out of trouble. Konepup was on his back and cheerfully squeaking at everyone.

Leon sighed. "Have these idiots all lost their braincells due to rule 34 or did they just get hit by a sledgehammer? 'Cause they're practically dumber than humanly possible."

The Slimepup shrugged. Or rather, what kind of looked like a shrug. And squeaked a good morning to a passing scientist. The scientist waved back and smiled, hurrying along.

"Anyways, we have post 1-35 today. It's the Garden entrance, the giant glass window. I heard the Gootrax there are pretty chill, so that would be a good break for me. Considering the last post was the Flooded Area and the Shorks basically fought with all their might. Now I see why Kyle and Sebastian hate that job." As he finished the last part, Leon chuckled. "Speaking of the infamous duo, they have been a pain in the ass so far. All they do is cause trouble for me and..."

As Leon rambled on about the things happening at work, he didn't notice that they already arived at the Garden. Konepup bit him to grab his attention.

"Ow, what was that for- oh."

The other guards and a handful of scientists looked at him weird, but didn't say anything. Rather continuing on their work. He took that moment to walk towards his post and awkwardly stand there.

Then, the lights start to flicker.
