Cheng Xiao: The Problems Start

"Look who is here, the one and only, Xiao Xiao!" Some girl that I don't even know says in a voice that sounds as if she is announcing my presence. I've probably talked to her once or twice, ehh I don't know. Probably one of those girls, that try to hang out with me.

"Hey." I say in a very bored tone. I've approached the "cool girls" group. They are the ones that think are worthy of my trust and friendship. The truth is, none of them are.

"I heard a rumor going around, that Ning Fang likes you Xiao Xiao." She giggles while saying that. Honestly, she's not even my friend, which explains why I don't know her name. Lately, I can't find people that are on my level that I can befriend.

"Really? Wow!" I say unamused. Then I hear something that makes me want to ditch my dad again.

"I hear he is gonna confess, today!" The girls all get really excited for me.

"Can you believe it?" One of the girls says, "The most handsome guy that all girls drool for might confess his feeling to Xiao Xiao!!!"

"Yea! Amazing! Hey I gotta go to the restroom real quick, call me if he gets on stage while I'm in the restroom!" I start walking off immediately.

"You aren't shy, right???" The girls say in unison smirking.

"Of course not! Why would I tell you to call me then? Huh?" With that, I get away and quickly signal my dad, RESTROOM, before leaving to the restroom. My dad gives me a thumbs up and then goes back to talking to his colleagues.

I run to the restroom and try distracting myself by going onto Instagram. Not much going on I see, except for those rumors about Ning Fang and me.

I keep on looking around and see a figure skater doing some cool tricks. Park Sunghoon it said, apparently he's also a singer, that's cool. I search up figure skaters and then Kai, because my favorite singer is Kai from EXO ;) There's a few Kai's here and there, but one sticks out to me. He's so unpopular. Most people in the comments are people saying he should become a teacher skater instead of staying as a professional figure skater. Weird fans I guess. That's probably going to stick in my head for some time.

Right when I'm about to keep on looking around, I hear the "cool" girls coming in the restroom. I flush the toilet to fake that I was using the restroom and then go out.

"Oh hey! Did Nin Fam, or whatever his name was, go on stage yet?" I fake a smile to act like I'm curious to know.

"It's NING FANG Xiao Xiao. He's about to, so you better wash your hands quick and go back!" They giggle and excitedly look at me while waiting for my response.

"Yea yea! I'll be out there in less than a minute." I fake a small giggle and go wash my hands.

"If you don't come out, we'll drag you out ourselves!" A girl shouts from outside. Who do they think they are to talk to me like that?

Even though I'm obviously gonna reject him, I still gotta look pretty. I make sure my hair looks nice and my face looks perfect, then I go out and the girls "escort" me back into the main room.

As soon as the girls get distracted, I run towards my dad and tell him what's been going on and what the rumors are.

"Xiao Xiao, you're so pretty that you already have pursuers!"

"Dad! You don't get it, I don't like him. I going to reject him, I want to find the right guy myself." I look determined to do what I just said so my dad says it's fine.

Then he says, "He's my worker though, so dont embarrass him too much!" He winks at me and let's me walk away.

"GUYS LISTEN UP!" An announcer of the event quiets everyone down.

"Ok, today we'll have a special announcement from none other than Mr. Ning Fang!" As the announcer welcomes Ning Fang on stage, everyone starts clapping like crazy. They obviously believe the rumors which seem awfully true to just be rumors.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I've been part of this business for some time, and I'm really grateful for everything you guys have done to help me achieve what I'm doing today."

I get kind of relieved because it seems he's just going to talk about work, but then...

"Now for my special announcement, that probably everybody already heard of, it's for a special someone."

I felt kinda relieved that I wouldn't have to embarrass him anymore by rejecting him, but he asked for it. I was ready to reject him in the worst way possible.

He kneels down and looks straight at me, "Cheng Xiao, would you be my girlfriend? I know you don't know me, but just think about it, yea? I've liked you since I first saw you and can't imagine myself without you in my life right next to me... as my wife."

The fact that he thought I'd be his wife, I laugh inside my head, that's a no no for you.

"Mr. Ning Fang, I don't know you, and unfortunately for you, you don't now me either." I hear gasps so I continue, "I don't intend on getting to know you, even if it depended on my life. What makes you think I want you to be anything to me. Ha! In your dreams child, grow up and then try getting a girlfriend!"

Everyone is really shocked at what I just said. I smirk by how the crowd reacted, but when I look at Ning Fang, he's smiling back. I dont get it, why is he smiling?

"Fortunately for me, I do know you. I plan on marrying you very soon, don't worry about the costs or anything. I'll be buying everything, you, just gotta be my wife."

He smirks back and for a second I'm taken aback. I blurt out the first excuse that I can come up with. It was the worst excuse I could ever make and worst for my dad, who will have to pay the price.

"I'm leaving the US to go enhance my ice skating skills. I will never marry you, my teacher over there is much more better than you, he's an ex-professional figure skater competitor. I assure you, you won't ever see me by your side."

With that I leave the room, leaving Ning Fang shocked now. I exit out the room as cool as possible. As soon as I'm far away from the room though, I start running away from that place as fast as I can. I never felt so miserable, UGH!
