I was at the social service office
" Star you've been through six foster families in the last two years you're a thief, habitual liar, you have no regard for rules and you want what' the social worker says
" my sisters address" stars says back
" you must be out your mind" the social worker says
" my sisters old enough to take care of us all you gotta do is just tell me where they're at" Star says
" sit down" social worker says
" it's not gonna happen star" social worker say
"Why?" Star says
" because you got a record so you're not getting any information on any child in the system even if they was your sister." Social worker says
" you think it's any easier on the outside do you even have anywhere to go" the social worker says while Star has a pained look on her face
"you wanna end up on the streets addicted just like your mother"the social worker says crossing a line
" don't talk about my mother"Star says with her finger in the woman's face
" are you Finna make me call security again" the social worker says putting her fingers in star face
Star stars to cry and put her head down
" we're not gonna end up like her we're not but you gotta tell me where she is I haven't seen them in five years and we need each other" Star says
" do you know what the system does to us" Star says
"I know, Star" The social worker says
"you know so let me see my sisters" Star says
"You gone make me lose my job they gonna process you out of the system and I better not hear my name out your mouth" The social worker says as she gave the files to Star
