Selina P.O.V:
After Ms.Carlota finished singing in church we went outside to eat
"Singing sure does make me hungry"Ms.Carlota says eating a piece of food
"My artery's are clogging just looking at it" Alex says
"Girl your too young to have artery's i'm surprised you've never stepped foot into a church" Ms.Carlotta says
"Nothing wrong with being an atheist" Alex says
"What's up Ms.C" this fine light skin dude says
"You gone burn" Ms.C says referring to Alex
"Hey hey" the boy says greeting me and the girls
"I know you came for the food cause certainly didn't see you in service" Ms.C says to the boy
"You know we were busy today with the activism thing come on hi yall ladies doing im Derek i live next door to Ms.Carlota" Derek says
"And he always activating about something what is it this time" Ms.C says
"Racial inequality in the criminal justice system this weekend were this rally and i really need your help let the church folk know im good people can you check it out" Derek says
He hands his flyers out to us and we look at them
He convinces Ms.C to agree
Him and Alex are giving each other the flirty looks
and him and his friends leave while me and Star make fun of Alex
(next morning)
Star is singing on the bed and me and Simone are laying on the floor doing the dance to the song
"Why do i have to be the one to get her fried apple pies" Alex says walking into the room
"The real question is why are we rehearsing when we aint got no gigs" Simone says laughing
"So when we do have a gig we're ready" Alex says
"That's right they said we would end up like mama that's not gonna happen" Star says
"i miss her" Simone says
"well you got us and i'll never let anything happen to either of you ok" i say to them both
"come on" Star says and drags me and Simone up from the ground
"let's start rehearsing get on this side and Selina you go on this side" star says
"what are you doing?" Alex questions
"I'm standing in the middle i sing lead" Star says
"there is no lead i wrote the songs to showcase all of our voices" Alex says
me and Simone are wrapped in the cover annoyed waiting for star and alex to finish bickering
"where do you want me you want me here or like one inch over" star says moving around
"are rehearsing?" simone clicks her tongue
"or nah" simone finishes
we all burst out laughing
