we were at danielle funeral and Ms.Gladys Knight spoke a few words for her niece then the pastor spoke and they brought up kelly price to sing
i'm holding star and simone's hand as we cry
we get home and derek wants to protest and have us sing
me and alex and simone are writing a song for the protest
star and alex get into an argument with star and she leaves
its later on at night and we were going to protest for danielle

we were getting ready to walk out the door for the protest but carlotta stops simone from leaving so i stay behind with her
i was sitting outside with alex as she wrote the song
and star comes out and has a talk with alex and they become cool again
we meet up later at the rehearsal studio and we're waiting for star to show up and she's late per usual
and alex calls her and hunter takes her phone and says she's not coming
"this is supposed to be a four part harmony" alex says stressed
"can't you just rewrite it for 3" simone asks
"someone needs to fill in" alex says
"can cotton sing" simone asks
"your joking right" i say
me, alex, and simone try to figure out what to do
"i can try until she comes" ava jahil "niece" says
"girl you can sing? "simone asks
"mm poquito" she says
"ok let's hear something" i say
she starts singing
"this is only till star gets back right" simone questions
"yea" i say to her
we continue performing and we get to the protest and perform without star and with eva
the protest was going smoothly until the police chief speaks and says that there are no charges brought against the officer who killed danielle and he was suspended without pay and that cause an uproar with the crowd
then all of a sudden these dudes with bats and black masks start attacking the police
and as soon as Carlotta sees that she grabs us and tries to leave
"im not leaving without derek" alex says
"well stay your stupid ass here then" Carlotta says
and then we walk away we find alex again and this time carlotta doesn't give her a chance to stay and drags her away and we all go home
we make it home and we're in the room as alex calls the police trying to see what's going to happen to derek
"are they answering yet" simone asks
"it's still ringing" she says stressed out
"dont worry hes going to be fine" i say to her holding her hand
"he can't stay in there i gotta go i got to tell his grandma" alex says
"Miss Carlotts already told her"simone says
"are y'all ok" star says finally showing up
"derek got arrested" alex says to her
"what happened"star asks
"you would know if you would've showed up for once" i say to her upset
"we got stuck and my phone was broken i saw y'all at the protest by the way singing with mamacita "she says
"she covered your ass"simone says
"i didn't need my ass covered i needed to be" star starts but is cut off by alex
"shut up i'm trying to get through to derek all right" she yells
alex finally gets taken off hold and is able to get information about derek
