Today was the last day of the summer break and Elaina had spent the whole day in doing her piled up homework. "I'm such last-minute person." She thought to herself. She remembered once Shu saying  "If tomorrow isn't the due date today isn't the do date." And She is also like this though how much she don't want to be. Her lips curved in a smile at the thought.

It's already evening now, so she decided to stroll for a while and check if student council was in the room doing what at this time.
On the way, she saw Shu in the garden. She raised her hand trying to call him but stopped amidst dead in the track.

He wasn't alone.

He was with a girl? Looking the same age as them. They were chatting casually together.

"Who's she? And why's she talking to Shu?"

She walked to ask him but stopped again.

"Who am I to meddle in Shu's business first of all?  He can have as many friends as he like and talk to anyone he wants..."

She walked away.

In the student council room there were Christina and Zen to welcome him. They were both done with their work and were just reviewing a few things whilst enjoying their evening tea and snacks. They invited Elaina to join them.

"Where's president?" She asked because of his absence.

"He's in his room, probably sleeping." Zen said. "He was looking really exhausted."

"President's work isn't a piece of cake right." Elaina said.

Then she asked again. "Where's Shu?" Pretending not to have encountered the sight from before. Maybe they knew something about that new girl.

"He's out touring a new transfer student in the premises." Zen said sipping from his cup of tea.

"New student? At this time? Elaina asked.

"Yeah, She's a girl that has just transferred here because of the transfer of his parents job". Christina replied. "She's in the first year and in the same class as Shu. So as a student council member he's helping out his classmate."

"Oh" It means he's helping just because she's a new classmate. Nothing more.
don't know why but it feels like a heavy load has just lifted up from my shoulders.
She thought to herself.

"I should be going now." She said getting up and leaving the room.

"Bye see ya tomorrow!" Zen waved at her.

Next day, was school. The classes kept going one after another making the students daze up from the long summer holidays. But not everyone is a lazy being. Many students who aim to achieve the top rank, name,  fame and a higher position in school are working hard.

Because in this academy, students who are more capable and hard-working than others are honoured with specified honorific
Badges to appreciate their efforts.

And this is what Elaina is aiming for ever since. To have a badge on her chest that would differentiate her from the others. A token of pride. To show that off to everyone that she's an elite.

Although she's already an elite but if she had a badge that proves she's reckoned by the teachers as an elite then others won't look down on her because of her introverted nature around the people. And she's also very sure that she'd be honoured with it.

After the classes get over, she was on her way to the dorm when she heard a familiar voice calling out her name. She turned to see Shu waving at her smiling widely. But he wasn't alone. That girl was there standing beside him.

They reached to Elaina.
"Hey there!" Shu greeted.
"Good afternoon" Elaina said.

Then she glanced at his side. Shu started "Meet her! She's Marianna   she had joined the academy yesterday, today's her first day at here.

"Good Afternoon" Marianna said  bowing with polite courtesy only raising a little to give her a  smirk?

Elaina noticed clearly knowing that she already hate her. But she returned the gesture.

After a while of introduction. Marianna started
"I wanna see the library! Won't you take me there?"She said shyly to Shu.

"Why? what are you? A little baby? Elaina snapped at her taking Shu by surprise. As well as herself when she realised what she said.

"Um Elaina...?" Shu looked at her.

That's when she realised what she just did. Lost control. Though it was a normal thing for her previous self but now in front of Shu.

"I-Im sorry!! I was just- I didn't mean that! Elaina apologized.

"It's fine. Moreover our true personalities are visible through our mistakes only." Marianna said with a smile that was annoying as hell for Elaina.

"Umm well then! See you later!" Shu clearly feeling ackward said to Elaina and went on his way with Marianna.

"This b*tch!! Just what does she think of herself. Just because Shu is helping her out! "

Elaina stormed out from there to her room.

The rest of the day she spent by herself in her room. "I must control my emotions... I'd never want to show my real side to my new friends. Never...But doesn't that mean I'm being fake? No! No!! I'm not being fake! I'm just- I'm just trying to improve myself. Yes! And trying to improve myself ain't a bad thing!  I should not overthink and be ready to confront what tomorrow brings for me! Elaina scolded herself "Just don't lose control of your mouth!"
