AFTER THE KIDS GATHERED THE SUPPLIES, THEY HOPPED IN THE CAR. Mike and Dustin sat on either side of Steve and Mavis, Lucas in the front seat, and Max at the wheel.

Mavis was sitting on Steve's lap at first, but Steve was slowly sliding down the seat and now she was sitting closer to his stomach. She was slumped over to the side and onto Dustin, she was fast asleep. Dustin's arm reached over her to hold an icepack to Steve's head.

The kids had thought they were in the clear with both of them being passed out. No consciousness, no resistance.

Max had kept her eyes wide trying to take in every ounce of the road as Lucas called out directions to her.

Mavis slowly began to stir awake, her hand flying to her cheek where she had been hit earlier. She groaned only to be shushed by a voice coming from above her.

She twisted her body to look up at the voice, it was Dustin. Now she was even more confused. "Hey, Rory..... it's okay, you did it! You kicked his ass!" he whispered to her.

She ignored him, sitting up straight, feeling the headache growing. "What's going on?" she asked confusedly, her hand moving up to hold her head. It ached.

She became even more confused when she felt herself sitting on someone. She turned back to see a passed-out Steve behind her. That's when it hit her.

"Oh my god. Who is driving?" She yelled. Starting to feel ill she held onto the front seats and leaned forward. Trying to stop the feeling of herself swinging with the car. She managed to pull her eyes up from the floor of the car and onto the driver's seat. She found herself looking directly at Max Mayfield, who was gripping the wheel so tight her knuckles were turning white.

"Oh my god. Stop the car," she spoke in a panic.

"Just relax she's driven before," Dustin said while trying to pull Mavis to sit back.

"Yeah in a parking lot," Mike chimed in, being of no help.

"That counts!"

She could not believe what was happening, "am I dying?" she questioned. Maybe this was Hell, she was wondering where she'd place on that scale anyways. Not that she believed in it.

"Shhhh, it's okay," Mike said, pulling her back toward Steve.

"I liked her better when she thought she was our dad," Lucas muttered.

"What?" She said shooting her head up, placing her arms on the front seats again. Another wave of nausea hit her as she did. "I'm gonna be sick, pull over," she groaned.

"Come on you're fine, just be the cool dad again. Remember when you kicked Billy's ass?" Dustin asked.

Steve began to stir awake, groaning as his head ached. "Oh my god, now Steve's waking up," Mike said annoyedly.

This caused Mavis to turn her attention to Steve. Turning around she cupped his face to coax him awake. "Up now. Max is driving!" she said. This made a groggy Steve's eyes go wide. "Oh my god," he muttered.

"Hey, buddy... It's okay. You put up a good fight. He kicked your ass, but you put up a fight," Dustin said shushing Steve.

"Woah, Woah, Woah. What's going on?" Steve asked confusedly.

"They were gonna leave you guys behind. I promised that you guys would be cool, okay? So be cool!" Dustin yelled.

"This is ridiculous, I'm going up there," Mavis muttered before using the seats in front of her to lift her up. Max saw this and pressed harder on the gas pedal, causing Mavis to rock a little. Noticing this, Steve reached out his arms, gripping her waist trying to help keep her steady.
