There was the sound of glass shattering from the ceiling. The demons were trying to claw away at the dirt to get to everyone but unfortunately for them, Felix was able to stop them by adding more dirt. Cotton was unable to make a bow, so he made a slingshot instead. He had to use shards of glass as ammo. Cotton never asked Void because he somehow knew Void didn't have the supplies.
Felix punches the demons away from the dirt and thickened the dirt walls while Cotton used the slingshot and glass to at least knock the demons out. Carry and Void were slicing the demons with the swords Void had made while Tara was laughing the entire time.
But just as Cotton had flung a rather large shard at a demon approaching Felix, the slingshot broke and the rubber band that Cotton had used hit Tara. Tara angrily turned around at Cotton and charged at him. But Cotton thought quickly and teleported away from Tara. And every time Tara had tried to attack Cotton, Cotton would teleport away.
But that didn't last for long because when Cotton teleported again, he passed out. Felix saw what had happened and used his dirt power to stop Tara from getting to Cotton. But the dirt wasn't strong enough. Felix stuck his hand out and shouted, "NO!!" But then something sent Tara and the demons flying. Felix realized what it was. Air. But Aria wasn't there. Then he realized he had done it. He had finally used his air power.
So he decided to test it again. He decided to make air push Carry, Cotton, and Void behind him. It worked. His face lit up with joy and excitement. Then he turned to Tara and her demons, who were piled up against the wall. He used the dirt and squished the demons. They disappeared into a deep red goop.
Tara looked at the deep red goop that used to be her minions. She looked back at Felix, then at Cotton, Void, and Carry. She looked back at Felix, then charged at Cotton, Void, and Carry before Felix could even react. When Felix looked at her again, he saw that Tara had grabbed Cotton. He tried to grab Cotton, but Tara had already teleported away.
Felix got angry and put all the dirt back down into the ground and he stormed out of the ballroom. Void and Carry chased after him. Umi saw Felix and got worried. So she ran up to him and the others.
"Felix! Felix, hey!" Umi shouted. Felix kept walking. "Felix, is something wrong?" Umi asked. Felix didn't answer. So Umi turned to Void and Carry. "Is something wrong? Where's that one friend of yours?" Umi asked. "He was taken by the Goddess of Demons..." Void said nervously. When Void said that, Umi seemed sickened by it. "You okay?" Carry asked. "You look sick." Umi nodded her head and said, "Yeah uh... It's just that... My own mother is the goddess," Umi said. "What?" Void said. "Yeah... So basically, she was human and everything. Just like me. But then she took the place of the Goddess of Demons. Then something happened and she changed. Now she's like this," Umi said. "Is her name Tara?" Carry said while they were still going after Felix. "No... Her name is Miranda," Carry said. "Wait, wait, wait... So her name is Miranda?" Void said. "Yeah...? Why?" Umi said. "The Goddess of Demons' name is Tara... So that means your mother is dead..." Carry said. Umi looked devastated.
When they finally caught up to Felix, he was getting on a horse. "What are you doing?!" Void yelled. "Going after Cotton. Tara took him," Felix said. "Felix! It's too dangerous!" Carry yelled. "Besides, if I die, that means Cotton is dead, too. Cotton and I are in sync. You may have not noticed it at first when I got stabbed, but Cotton was slowly dying and in a lot of pain, too," Void said. Felix looked at Void in disbelief. "Yeah right..." Felix said. "I'm telling the truth, Felix," Void said as his eye teared up. Then Void felt a scratch on his arm. "Ouch," he said, looking at his arm. "We're fortunate enough that she took Cotton," Carry said. "And why's that? Huh?" Felix said. "Because he's almost impossible to kill. It's really hard to penetrate his skin," Void said. "But if they had taken me, I could've died."
