AU: Vampire
Warnings: Blood, biting, possessive behavior/character, feral behavior, manipulation, angst, swearing, etc.
Description:
He brought roses with him every time he visited the coffin to replace the ones he had left previously. Just to make sure that Wilbur wouldn't be able to escape.
His resolve would waver every single time he visited. Every single time a soft 'hello darling' greeted him when he approached the coffin of his once friend. The vampire prince was...too dangerous, he concluded. If Wilbur got out...he's not sure what would happen. He tried to ignore the way his heart would twist painfully at the idea of the vampire running or leaving him behind. Not that Quackity would blame him, Wilbur had an entire eternity ahead of him.
Despite the witch's best efforts with his blood magic and spells, he only had a short few decades. Maybe a century if he was lucky.
When he started dating Karl and Sapnap, he thought maybe he could finally let go. Maybe he could move on, and forget the vampire trapped inside his basement within the coffin. But a nasty break up leaves the witch with only his memories of a sharp smile and blood red eyes.
Quackity breaks that night, returning to the basement with no roses to replace the ones atop the coffin.
Author's Notes: This AU stems from a very old, and very obscure vampire mythology factoid that I feel like should be mentioned more. Especially for any modern urban fantasy authors since it brings with it lots of angsty romantic shit.
This is a very obscure vampire weakness, in that, placing a wild rose on a vampire's coffin will trap them inside. It's said that the scent of a rose can keep them at bay, and the thorns can trap them in their graves. I believe this was originally mentioned in 'Dracula' the actual book. I learned this fact from watching an OSP summary about it (link will be in the bottom note).
So, here, have a wacky vampire AU where I reference some very old mythology because I am a goddamn nerd. Enjoy!

Quackity never understood why Wilbur moved his coffin inside the witch's basement. Maybe because they had long been friends by that point, maybe because the royal vampire trusted him. Maybe it was just because he trusted Quackity wouldn't rat him out, or perhaps it was because the vampire realized that the witch wouldn't be able to tell anyone regardless because then he'd be exposing himself too.
They had been working together for years at that point, Wilbur feeding from unsuspecting villagers and Quackity taking whatever blood was left for his potions before making sure the victim would stay dead (sometimes pestering the prince for his blood too for a more potent potion or spell). Not everyone can claim that they were somewhat friends with a vampire from the infamous Craft Clan. Least of all with the crown prince.
Wilbur was...fun to be around. He'd dare even say that he had grown quite fond of the blood-sucking asshole. And he surprisingly trusted the vampire with a lot of things. People would probably call him dumb for allowing a goddamn royal vamp near his fucking neck. But it's not like he could predict when Wilbur would sneak up behind him and nuzzle him like that. The bastard was silent when he walked like any self respecting nocturnal hunter would be.
Besides, Wilbur had actually been a huge asset for improving his magic and diversifying his potions. Turns out, potion making was a fond hobby of the taller. And, surprise surprise, vampires know a lot about blood magic. Who would've guessed?
Sometimes, on good days, he'd even feel like maybe the vampire was fond of him. After all, the prince extended a lot of trust in him by moving his coffin into the witch's basement. And, he'll admit, the vampire was very nice to look at. They always did when they were well fed, Quackity knew that. Most vampires were very attractive so long as they had a steady supply of blood to feed on.
Most people would be weirded out by the witch's general lack of concern as it comes to blood and murder, but he could literally call himself a blood mage and he'd be accurate. He was desensitized to it and having a vampire as his basically roommate was honestly one of the less weird things he was used to. Dealing with Wilbur's snarky attitude was a lot more easy to deal with than Blood Spawn (failed spells or potions that ended up creating slime like monsters made of blood) (yes it was as horrific as it sounds).
