"go to bed jayde! i'll go upstairs after watching the newest episode of love island. you know i can only watch it over your house because my mom refuses to buy peacock"
"yea yea goodnight hun" she says while half awake.
After about 20 minutes into love island, i start to hear some footsteps creeping behind me.
"BOOO!"
"you couldn't scare me but nice try o.m."
"wowww! i'll try to be a little quieter next time!" jaydens mom says.
i love her to pieces. ever since my mom passed a couple of years ago, she has treated me like one of her own. which is why i call her my other mom or o.m. (kinda silly i know)
"how's your novel going?"
jayden's mom has spent the past year locking herself in her study and spending hours working on her "life changing" novel. no one has read it or even seen the progress of her novel but her. once, jayde and i tried to sneak onto her laptop and read a page but she had too passwords and we're lazy people.
"my novel is great. i am almost at the climax, everything is unraveling just nicely. how is tyler?"
tyler mayfield. my boyfriend of 2 years.
"he is good. next week he starts taking some summer classes for his Stanford honors program. i'm so proud of him and can't wait to see him excel in life"
"that is so great sweetie. i wish my jayden would find someone to be with her long-term. she deserves to be with someone who makes her as happy as tyler makes you".
i could make her happy.
