Neil sits on the roof top, swinging his legs off the side, barely registering the cigarette has gone out in his hands a while ago. He wasn't very proud of his work on the field today, during their match.
Yes they won, but it wasn't enough for Neil to just win, he wanted to feel like he earned it. Even though a win is a win, he didn't feel like he deserved it, so he ditched the celebratory party the foxes were throwing in one of the rooms, probably his, because that's where Matt and Dan kept most of their alcohol, to sit here alone.
Even the cheerleaders and the monsters where in there tonight. Everyone was happy- besides Neil- if he took a few seconds to really think about it, he would realize it wasn't upset about the game, but the weight of his heart instead.
"If I walk over there and I see a frown on your face, I'll through you off the side of this building." Neil knew the voice of that boy from anywhere.
Andrew Minyard.
Twin.
Crazy, on or off his meds.
Leader of the Monsters.
And quiet recently, Neils crush.
Did Andrew know about it? absolutely not, Neil would be mortified and quiet literally break his promise of not run, to the later boy if he found out. Neil knew Andrew wasn't like the way the foxes described him, but he knew that Andrew didn't do romance or relationships- well, not to Neils knowledge.
Andrew was a bird, that would never be trapped, by anyone or anything.
Neil hated his crush on the former, but he couldn't help it. He's never looked at anyone else like that before, and quiet frankly he didn't think he ever would look at someone like this again, so Neil sat, like he always did, and kept quiet, because if your lips are sealed you can't say something stupid, or confess.
"Neil." Andrew deadpans, sitting next to Neil. Neil catches Andrews eye for a moment, realizing Andrew expected a response to his first sentence, so he said the first thing that came to his mind.
"If you push me off this building, I'll drag you with me." The sentence probably wouldn't effect Andrew, and Neil knew this, but he said it anyways.
"You're seriously pouting up here when you won the stupid game?" Neil looks at Andrew who rolls his eyes and glares out toward the parking lot, before looking up at the stars. Neil watched as he did so, finding Andrew so effortlessly, pretty.
Neil didn't know if pretty was the right word, but that's all he could figure out, how to describe the goalkeeper.
Pretty.
Everything he did.
Every movement, word, or gesture he did, was pretty.
Neil knew Andrew was far from perfect, he knew dearly of this, but Andrew was Andrew and that's all that Neil saw lately.
"I'm fine," Neil finally states looking away from the boy before he got caught.
Andrew sighs, turning his face toward the redhead, who pretends to not be watching him out the corner of his eyes, before Andrew reaches out and turns Neils face toward him.
Andrew didn't actually touch Neil, he never touched Neil, instead, Andrew hovered his palm over Neils right cheek, and followed it as Neil faced him.
Andrew did this quiet often, so this wasn't new of Neil to understand.
"I don't like that phase." Andrews Hazels eyes look directly into Neil's blue ones. Neil doesn't exactly allow himself to look directly into Andrews afraid he wouldn't look away if he did.
