(No POV)

"...After handing Hannah over to two men dressed as FBI to evacuate her, I rushed back into the mine with some police, medics, and firefighters to look for one person. Richy. That name was mentioned by Hannah when I find him and beg to look for Richy's whereabouts. Or maybe someone else is in there. However, about 200 meters before entering the mine, suddenly there was an explosion and you could see flames coming from inside. And that's what happened. " Alan Bloomgate makes a video call with Sophie who has just managed to find Hannah.

On Sophie's phone screen, Alan pointed his camera remotely at the mine and then at the surroundings which looked absolutely terrifying. Firefighters seemed to be trying to put out the fire. Medical officers are also ready with their equipment if the fire is extinguished. And likewise with the police, Sophie could hear their voices about their plans for the future.

"I'll call you back when the situation is better." Alan immediately hung up.

Sophie's heart and mind were now mixed. Fear, worry, and sadness began to be felt by her. Sophie couldn't believe that the situation would turn out this way, and that wasn't what she wanted. She was worried about Richy and afraid that something might happen to him.

The clock shows 12 o'clock at night, counting already 2 hours after the incident. Sophie didn't rush to sleep right away because her mind was still messed up. Her thumb scrolled up the screen of her phone several times to look for news about the fire at the Ironsplitter Mine - if there was any -. Sure enough, there is no news yet because it happened not long ago. Sophie opened the messaging app. No notifications whatsoever. Be it from Jessy, the group, Alan, and the one person who is most important to her, Jake. How's Jake doing? Sophie immediately opened the chat between her and Jake. Having just typed a few words, her phone rang and the name that appeared on the screen was Alan Bloomgate. In a flash, Sophie pressed the answer button.

"Hello Sophie."

"Hello Alan, how is the situation there now? Have you found Richy yet?"

"It's getting better. The explosion wasn't so big that the fire was put out as quickly as possible. And your friend..."

"What happened?"

"Richy. We found him."

"I'm grateful."

"However, something has happened to him."

"What do you mean?"

"Because Richy inhaled too much smoke from the fire, his condition weakened. But don't worry, the medics will provide him with extra care as soon as possible."

"Where did you guys find Richy?"

"We found him not far from the room where at that time I found evidence regarding the Jennifer Hanson's accident case. Richy was unconscious at that time. After the medics took Richy out of there, me and several polices surveyed the surroundings. We found evidence that caused the previous explosion."

"So Richy did everything that caused the explosion?"

"Maybe so. But we'll have to check it again by asking Richy when he's recovered."

"Oh..."

Richy? Why would he do such a stupid thing?

Sophie paused for a few seconds to think. Oh, did Sophie have to ask Alan about Jake's whereabouts? However, Jake once told Sophie not to implicate his identity with the Duskwood police. Not long after, Alan said something that surprised Sophie.

"You know, if there's an FBI around you then their target is around you too, right? So, they're probably here looking for that hacker."

Can Alan read my mind? Sophie thought.
However, Sophie just kept silent and didn't reply to those words and just wanted to know what was going on.

"We suspected that no one else was still in there. So, we ended the search and headed back out. Likewise with the evidence of the Jennifer Hanson case and the cause of the explosion."

With some trepidation, Sophie asked Alan.

"Are you serious, Alan?"

"Yes. And we may not be able to find the whereabouts of someone here with a distance of tens kilometers because this mine map may not be the same as the map we have."

"Okay then. Thanks for helping me find Hannah, Alan."

"I'm grateful to you too, Sophie. If anything happens, I'll call you. And so do you if you need my help."

Sophie pushed the button to end the call. She gripped the phone with both hands. Jake. His whereabouts are still unknown. Sophie had just remembered that she had wanted to text Jake earlier. She turned on her phone again, pressed the messaging app, and typed in a few sentences.
