Thor and I waited outside for a while. It was cold, and it was boring.
Thor entertained himself for a bit by tossing up snowballs and hitting them with Mjolnir, but then he slowly wandered off.
"Sorcha, come over here," Thor shouted.
I walked over to see what he had found. There was a wall of ice, blocking the entrance to a cave. A familiar warm golden glow came from behind it.
Thor was bashing at the wall with his hammer, I aimed a beam of fire at it as well. Soon the wall was gone, and we entered a small cave with an Agartha portal in it. As always, I had the sensation of coming home as I basked in the warm glow.
"This wasn't there when we arrived, was it? Or did we just miss it?" Thor asked.
I'm not sure, "I answered. "I still don't know whether these portals are always there, or if they appear where needed. I don't think anyone knows to be honest. That is handy though, we'll have a quicker way back."
We made our way back to the entrance of Jotunnhold.
"I'm going in," Thor said suddenly.
"Thor, that is a bad idea..." I began, but Thor was already walking into the hallway. The doors on the left of the hallway had been opened. Anna and Loki had been going through the rooms methodically it seems. The hallway was large and utilitarian, sculpted out of blue-grey stone with exquisite craftsmanship. It wasn't exactly warm inside, but it wasn't bitterly cold either. I took off my gloves and the hood of my jacket.
Thor pulled open a door on the right.
By the light of my torch, we could see it was empty. Whatever it had been in it a thousand years ago had long ago crumbled to dust it seemed.
Thor was already walking out again, pulling doors open at random.
"Thor, this is a really bad idea!" I pointed out again, but the blond giant didn't listen.
"Look here," Thor said after opening another door. In it were about a dozen large stone rectangular boxes.
I looked inside one. It was deeper on the inside than on the outside, sunken into the floor. Inside the box were the skeletal remains of a Jotunn. A casket or sarcophagus then?
"A burial chamber?" I suggested.
"No, none of them have their armour on. And Jotunn are supposed to be buried in ice I think," Thor mused. "I have no idea what this is."
"We should go and find Loki and Anna and tell them what we found," I said.
Just as we walked into the hallway we hear a scream followed by the sound of a door slamming shut.
"Anna!" Thor and I both realised, and we ran through the hallway.
Before we could get far, frost golems came swarming at us. I had no idea where they were coming from, but for a long while, there seemed to be an endless supply.
Thor and I fought side by side, smashing and melting golem after golem, both of us getting injured as we were vastly outnumbered.
I wasn't scared for myself, but I was worried about Thor, and Loki and Anna too. Who knew what they were facing while we were wasting time here?
After what seemed an eternity, there were suddenly no more golems left.
I healed Thor and then myself. Most of our wounds weren't life-threatening, but we had taken quite the beating.
We made our way carefully through the shattered remains, stopping before the first closed door on the left. Thor tried opening it, but it was locked.
"Loki? Anna?" I called.
