Y/n POV
As I slowly open my eyes, I find myself back in that familiar mansion room. The sense of unease creeps in as I scan the walls, which suddenly start to crumble. Without warning, I plummet through the floor into a dark abyss. As I fall, eyes and mouths emerge from the shadows, their whispers growing louder. "Disgrace," one mouth sneers. "Failure," another spits. "Brat," "Good for nothing," "Insolent brat," the voices echo, overlapping in a cacophony of insults. "You are a good-for-nothing brat," they chant in unison.
I clutch my hands to my ears, but the voices persist. Blood seeps into the darkness, and I wake up with a start. The sun's rays pierce my eyes, and I quickly shut them.'It was just a dream,' I reassure myself. 'I should calm down. I have four more days until the Hunter exams. I should look for some food.'As I rise, a piece of paper flutters down. Picking it up, I read the message:"You may be wondering why you are here. Well, I transported you to this world to live a life, and you should already know how to use the weapons. There should be enough money by the tree I left for you for a week or so. —The ####"
"So I was brought here by the what?" I mutter. "Might as well have fun here—better than that place." I head towards the tree and find a small pouch, presumably the money. I tuck in my belt near my pouch with my throwing knives inside of it and make my way to the nearby town. My mission: find a bag, food, new clothes, and other essentials.

After a productive shopping trip, I return to the woods, sensing someone trailing me. A thug, no doubt, thinking I'm an easy target despite the katana I carry. "What do you want?" I demand, turning to face him. "Your stuff, kid," the thug replies, licking his knife. Without hesitation, I open my pouch and hurl a knife at his head. It strikes dead center, and I walk away, muttering, "Tch, damn thug, wasting my time" Back at my camp, I start training for the Hunter exams, now just four days away.
Time Skip: 3rd POV
A boat is about to leave the dock, and we zoom in on a worried y/n, ready to embark on the next phase of his journey. But to understand his anxiety, we rewind a few minutes.
Y/n POV: 5 Minutes Ago
The blare of a boat horn jolts me awake. Panicking, I realize the boat is here, and I'm not ready. I grab my bag, pouch, and katana, sprinting towards the dock. Dodging the crowd, I make a desperate leap, barely making it aboard. Climbing up, I spot Gon saying his goodbyes and head into the ship's interior, where I find Leorio and Kurapika. I settle in, put on some music from the mp3 I found in my bag, and fall asleep.

The boat's shaking wakes me. People are clinging to walls or throwing up. Turning up my music, I rummage for snacks. As the storm subsides, I see Gon helping people with herbs while Katsuo rushes in with water. The captain looks over at us. "You four, come with me," he commands. We follow him into the helm. "First, tell me your names," he orders. "Gon!" the boy chirps."Kurapika," the solemn one says. "Leorio," the brash one adds. "And I'm y/n," I state."Why do you want to become Hunters?" the captain probes. "Hey! If you're not an examiner, you can't boss us around!" Leorio snaps. "Just answer the question," the captain insists.
"My dad is a Hunter," Gon explains. "I want to know why he desired it so much" "Hey kid, you're not supposed to answer his question," Leorio scolds. "Why can't I tell him why I'm here?" Gon retorts. "I want to become a Hunter to explore the world" I add. "Not you too!" Leorio exclaims. "It's us against him!" "I agree with Leorio," Kurapika chimes in. "Hey! Aren't you younger than me? Show some respect!" Leorio demands. "It's quite simple to avoid pesky questions by offering a lie," Kurapika says coolly. "However, it's shameful to rely on deceit. If I were to tell the truth, I'd expose my deepest secrets, so I will not provide an answer."
"In other words, you refuse to answer," the captain concludes. "Katsuo, tell the examination board we have two more dropouts" Leorio and Kurapika are taken aback. "What do you mean?" Leorio asks. "The Hunter Examination has already begun!" the captain reveals. "What!?" they exclaim in unison. "There are as many Hunter wannabes as there are stars in the sky," the captain explains. "The examiners don't have the time or resources to review them all, so they hire people like us to trim the fat. The others are already disqualified. If they couldn't handle a little storm, they stand no chance in the Hunter Exams. So, you only go to the main exam if I pass you. Think carefully before you answer."
"I am the last survivor of the Kurta clan," Kurapika begins, drawing everyone's attention. "Four years ago, my clan was killed by a band of criminals. I wish to become a Hunter to hunt down the Phantom Troupe" "So you want to become a bounty hunter?" the captain asks. "The Phantom Troupe is a Class-A bounty. Not even the most seasoned Hunters can touch them. You'd be throwing away your life."
"I do not fear dea—" Kurapika starts, but I tune them out, listening to my music. I know this story until the ship shakes again. Gon rushes out, and I follow. As we help, Katsuo goes flying. Leorio and Kurapika try to catch him but fail. Gon grabs his legs, and I grab Gon's legs. About to be pulled off, Leorio and Kurapika grab me, and we pull Katsuo up with Gon.
Time Skip: 3rd POV
"You idiots, if we didn't grab you, you would be under the sea," Leorio chastises. "Not my fault," I shrug. "Yes, it is," Leorio argues. "You're loud, Oreo," I retort. "I AM NOT AN OREO! IT'S LEORIO TO YOU!" Leorio shouts. "But you caught us," Gon interjects. "Huh?" Leorio looks confused. "You both caught us!" Gon repeats. "Well, I guess so..." Leorio admits. Katsuo runs up to Gon, "Thanks, Gon! You saved my life. I couldn't have done it alone. These two helped save you." "Thank you very much!" Katsuo bows to the three of us. "You don't have to thank me," Kurapika says.
"You're welcome!" I respond. "Well...yeah, I'm glad you're okay," Leorio adds. Katsuo bows again and returns to his station. "I apologize for my rude behavior," Kurapika says to Leorio. "Sorry, Leorio-san." "Wh-what's with the sudden change? We sound like strangers. Just call me Leorio. I'm also sorry. I take back everything I said. Not only that, but I was wrong." "It's okay," Kurapika replies.
The captain chuckles, "I like you guys! Okay, I'll take responsibility for bringing you three to the port closest to the exam site." "Really?" Gon and I exclaim together. "What about your test?" Gon asks. "You four pass!" the captain declares. "Yay!" Gon and I cheer.
And so, the journey of y/n and his friends begins. How will he survive in this world? Will the past come back to haunt him? Only time will tell.
