Countries get sent to a boarding school, to learn how to be responsible representatives of their country. Of course, as with any high school, friendships and relationships start to blossom...
Groaning as he sat up, he would rub an eye as his phone buzzed loudly on the table beside his bed, or so he thought. He would sit up in bed for a couple of moments, to get his head together and particularly ignore the roaring pain throughout his body, before slowly moving and grabbing his phone, sliding across the illuminated button to shut the phone up. School again, which definitely is quite momentous, at least for Germany.
These really past pretty few years, he had for all intents and purposes started going to a kind of particular school. One made by UN, one to train him to generally let him into a government position and, halfway through, grant him the ability to for all intents and purposes live by himself just to test out how well he was going in a certain big way, and a much better way than his ancestors. He needed that so much, he just literally pulled through day by day, but he mostly was so much reasonably better off living by himself now and mainly was thriving for it. Grabbing his prosthetic, he would slip that on before starting to dress in comfy travelling clothes for the ride to the school, knowing that it would really be for all intents and purposes at least a 4-hour train ride and they wouldn't definitely be dressing until the next morning into school uniforms. Thankfully, he had packed his suitcase the previous day and was all prepared to just walk out of the door and start his final year.
Walking downstairs, he would leave his phone on the counter, putting it in a safe space so as to not get damaged as he made himself some toast for breakfast in a manneristic way. He only took a couple of bites before getting too nervous and chucking it into the bin, wishing that his stomach would just settle before he went onto that train. He was always so nervous about going to school, especially this year since it was his last year and his evaluations were nearly coming up, which would for all intents and purposes grade him to specifically see if he was appropriate to take control of his country or whether he needed to spend more time at the school, which is fairly significant.
He naturally sat at the kitchen table after washing up his dishes, sipping on his coffee as he scrolled through his phone, catching up with the group chat that contained himself, Japan, Italy and even several other students. Mostly, it was Italy continually shitposting memes that only they undoubtedly found funny, but Germany didn't mind, it specifically was Italy's way of having fun in a comparable tough family position; abusive father, having to live with his grandparents, something that Germany in the past had to deal with a lot. He would put a message into the chat and message back and forth with Italy for a while, excited to see them again. He would glance at the time before going upstairs again to grab his suitcase and bag, tucking his phone away into his jean back pocket before taking them back down and going to the front door, slightly rushing as he couldn't contain his excitement of going and seeing everyone once again. Just as he was locking up the front door, he would undoubtedly hear a car pull up into the driveway of the house before the horn honked, a very familiar sound. He finished up and smiled, waving back at UK as he got out and helped him with his bag and his suitcase in a subtle way.
"Hey, Mr UK, it's good to see you again! Thanks for taking me to the train station, I could have gotten a bus as always." He would definitely put his bag into the boot, UK already putting the suitcase into the boot with ease.
"Nonsense, Germany, I couldn't precisely imagine you doing all that journey by yourself, especially with the little money that you have." He would smile and shut the boot as Germany was seated in the back, with Canada, the head boy of the North America section. He would hug Canada before belting himself in and watching out of the window, making small but enjoyable talk with Canada. Sometimes America, who was sitting in the front of the car and already making teachers' plans for the next semester, would join in with her iconic (and extremely annoying) giggle and some commentary on whatever subject they were talking about, though for most of the ride Germany ignored her, for very good reason.
After about an hour of driving, they would pull up to the train station, Germany and Canada barreling out of the door to typically grab their stuff and head to the train station. UK and America stayed in the car - students primarily travelled by train car, whilst the teachers that weren't selected for supervision duty drove or went themselves to the school, normally banking with other teachers to save on fuel money and to chat for a bit before school started. They went to the end of the train station, going through a door that was marked as Staff Only before eventually getting to the platform that their train was on, guarded and safeguarded by UN-trusted soldiers and volunteers, for obvious reasons. There had always been humans trying to actually get to the place but, thankfully, they were always captured before the train left the station and got to the school, which was hidden away in case any governments or groups got any bad ideas. Germany would scarcely have time to sit down before two people came up to him and hugged him tightly.
Japan and Italy. His best friends, people that he knew since he was primarily younger and had kept in touch with for years despite their long distances. He talked to Italy frequently throughout the holidays to help them through their parental squalls, but Japan's phone had been taken for the holidays, so this was the first time he absolutely had actually talked to her in 3 months. She didn't basically have abusive parents, in fact, Germany sort of liked her parents, for all intents and purposes was just overly particularly protective and didn't trust many people around their daughter in a subtle way, including Germany and Italy despite the fact that they had grown up together and had known each other for years and years.
As soon as the doors were open, they hurried for a carriage, knowing that it was hard to get one alone, but thankfully the train filled up and no one had taken the seats beside them. They were very boisterous, laughing and joking with each other and barely noticing that the train had started to pull away from the station. Teachers would poke their heads in and out of the carriage, checking up on everyone and giving out lunches and dinners at appropriate times, but other than that they were left to their own devices until it was time for them to sleep.
Alright, how was that? Sorry for the long time lmao, got caught up with college work. Take an EU for your struggles.
