My tongue is gone. Lost, the Capitol took it away. I'm an avox. A slave for the Capitol. A nobody. I was forced into work the second I became an avox. Without my tongue, my mouth literally feels empty.

I walk in to the room I have been assigned to bring a plate of food. Haymitch and Effie sit down there, surrounded by a group of sponsors they are trying to convince. They obviously don't recognise me, but I definitely recognise them.
"Sorry, we have important matters to discuss,"Effie said to all of the sponsors."Please come back tomorrow." The sponsors all file out of the room, one by one, until nobody is left in the room besides Haymitch, Effie and I.

They whisper to each other, and Haymitch flicks on the fancy television. Prim pops up on the screen. I take a loud, deep breath in of excitement.
She is still alive!
Haymitch stares at me. I need to somehow let him know I'm Prim's sister. Even though I was earlier warned any attempt to communicate with others is a punishment of death, I have to try!

I pointed at Prim on the television.
"What about her?" Haymitch asked, earning a disgusted look from Effie.
She's my sister!
I signalled for him to bring me a piece of paper. When he passes it to me, with a pen, I quickly scribble down a note. Effie turns away as if to say she isn't a part of this. Haymitch reads the note.

I am Katniss Everdeen, Prim's sister, it says. Haymitch's eyes pop out of his head when he reads it. He nudges Effie and she too reads the note.
"Listen."Haymitch whispers."Meet us here tomorrow at the exact time. Make sure nobody knows about this. Or we'll all be in trouble."

I quickly run out of the room.
"Oh and by the way."Haymitch calls."You have a very intelligent sister."
I smile and leave.

I'm back to my......new home I guess. All the other Avoxes are here as well. I've been trying to communicate with them, but it's way too hard as we are always being watched. I quickly find a piece of paper and scribble a few words. Passing it around, the other Avoxes stare at me nervously, hopefully no-one else had seen it through the security cameras.

They all nod, replying to my note, and it is burned in the fire. Those words will be lost, but their meaning will remain between us.

Join my rebellion, it had read.
