Prim is going to die.

That's all I can hear in my head. Peeta Mellark, the only person who would protect her, is dead. Sure, the girl named Rue could help her, but there is only so much that both of them can achieve. The career tributes had already made a temporary alliance. They are unstoppable.

Mother is in shock. She hasn't said a word to me since the games started. All she did was stand by the television, and cry. I'm out hunting to get away from everything.

I shoot a bird and start to skin it. But I hear a rustling sound in the bush. I grab my bow and shoot when I see the creature jump out from behind the trees. I stare in shock when I see what it is. It's a Peacekeeper!

Another Peacekeeper jumps out and tackles me to the ground. I cry out for help. But I don't deserve it, I just murdered someone! The Peacekeeper pulls me up by the hair and takes me out of the forest. I'm yelling, kicking and screaming to escape his grasp.

They take me through district 12. I guess it is some kind of walk of shame. And I see Gale in the crowds that are gathering. He remains calm, but I can see that he is planning something. They drag me to the head Peacekeeper.
"This girl has shot a Peacekeeper dead with an arrow." One of them says with a firm voice.

The crowd is speaking in nervous, hushed voices, as if they are scared that they will have the same fate as me. The Peacekeepers gather together to make their decision. Eventually, they seem to come to some agreement. One of them raises a gun to my head, then he says in a raised voice so everyone can hear.
"A new order from the Capitol orders us to kill anyone who isn't disciplined as they should be. Therefore, this girl, who's name is Katniss Everdeen will be execute-" but he doesn't finish.

Gale sprints through and knocks the Peacekeeper over mid sentence. He yells, "Run Katniss, I'll catch up." But I know he won't. I sprint down the damaged roads of District 12, which I know I will never see again. I don't even have time to say goodbye to my mother.

When I get to the fence I stop and look back, "Goodbye, District 12." I say and crawl through the fence. I run. I don't know where I am going, but I've lost everything, so I run. I don't even look back.
