Chapter 1: Is the New School Going To Be Cool?

Arguably, Liam O'Brien is a fun person. Well, I guess that's up to you. Liam didn't had problems growing up. Growing up he was the prince of the Griffins. His father was King Ailbhe O'Brien of the Griffins. The war ended after his birth. Griffin all-boys school was his school. He had a younger twin named Achill. Popular was a good word to describe him. But his life would have a ripple effect change the moment he stepped into Celestial Boarding High School.

Friday, September 9th
Liam woke up with bags next to him. A messy golden mullet was what Liam saw once he got up. The only things that weren't in a bag were the clothes he was wearing that day. He put on his yellow top, a black leather jacket, baggy black jeans, and combat boots. Liam opened one of the bags, and took out a brush. Brushed the straight mane. He walked downstairs and sat down, seeing his father and his twin as always. "Good morning I made strawberry pancakes today," Achill told Liam at breakfast. Unlike his twin, Achill didn't even have school until the next day, so he didn't have to worry about being late. He wasn't even going to Celestial until next year. Once everyone sat down, Liam and Achill chitchatted about school. All he said she said stuff. Liam's father was reading the newspaper. King Ailbhe needed to see how he was perceived by the media. Especially since there were plans to build a bridge from the Griffins to the Vampire Islands. Liam checked his phone, and it was already 5:30. Liam told his brother he was going to leave and quickly got up and put his plate in the sink. Liam had to get there by 6:00, so he had to leave now. The school was in the capital, Angel Metropolis. Liam ran back upstairs to get all of his bags. His face looked melancholy as he looked at his window. He jumped back down the stairs. Liam ran outside and stuffed the bags in the trunk. Once his dad got in the car, they were off to school. There was lots of traffic on the roads. King Ailbhe got mad a few times at fellow drivers, but that wasn't out of the ordinary for him. They arrived at 6:01. Liam waved goodbye while getting all the bags. There were plenty of others running into the school. Once Liam was in, he took a gaze at the stunning school. In August there was orientation, so Liam already knew some of the school. He ran to the third floor since everyone had to put their stuff in their dorms. Liam got his key for room 6 and stuffed his stuff in the closest room to the door. He ran back downstairs, and then outside until he was in the auditorium. The bleachers were out and Liam sat at the top of one. After a few minutes went by, plenty of students came and sat down. The auditorium was packed, it was about 400 freshmen to seniors. Once everyone was there, the principal came on the stage. Liam was nervous. The principal was his mother. He hadn't ever met her, but there she was. Despite not knowing her personally, his father told stories about her. Before she was Principal O'Connor, she was just Private Aerinn O'Connor. Along with Principal O'Connor was the Vice Principal, Ms. Adoncia. The two of them were similar yet opposites. Ms. O'Connor was a gray zombie, chubby and small. Ms. Adoncia, on the other hand, was short, but a thin and tan Pixie. Once everyone was there, Principal Aerinn started talking. "Hello everyone, I'm your principal at Celestial Boarding High School. You can call me Ms. O'Connor. For some of you, this is your first high school experience. For some others, it's your last year. Plenty of nobles and royals are here, too. Some of you may be here on a scholarship. No matter what, all of you are creatures. Now, we have a free world as close as 15 years ago. Back 1000 years ago, the ancestor creatures wanted to expand to the human world, but the humans killed the creatures. They fought in wars for hundreds of years. But all the creatures had something the humans didn't, a celestial sphere. When born, all ancestors had a gem. If you trained, the gem would turn into a celestial sphere. Humans killed some of these ancestors and took the spheres, and they got the power. The war finally ended in 2007, after the Treaty of the Creatures. Since then, there's been an era of peace. That is our history. The great thing about the past is, that it teaches you about the future. Now, I'll be explaining the important rules to remember for the school year.
1. Don't be late. Three unexcused tardies will lead to detention.
2. No personal devices during class. If you are caught, it will be taken away until the end of the day.
3. Don't forget to bring your belongings to class. For example, bring your gym clothes for the gym.
4. Do your class work. Missing assignments will lower your average. 5 unexcused missing assignments give you detention.
5. Don't be rude. Treat others the way you want to be treated! You can report bullying to me or Ms. Adoncia. Bullying can lead to detention and suspension.
6. Don't fight. Fighting also leads to detention and suspension.
7. Posting discriminatory things on social media leads to suspension.
8. If the suspension isn't working, you'll get expelled.
On the school days, we'll be either A or B. The morning announcements will notify you if it's A or B. I have a lot of excitement for you all to flourish at Celestial Boarding High School. There are dances throughout the school year, the first one will be held on September 30th from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. That's the time for all school dances. Thank you for listening, you're all dismissed,". After Principal O'Connor finished, everyone started standing up. Liam took a look at his schedule.

Liam checked the clock, it was 7:37. He had to go all the way to the second floor to get to the magic class. He went back inside and walked up the tall stairs. Once he got to magic, he saw the room had a bunch of chairs. His teacher Mr. Jadu started talking about the syllabus. Mr. Jadu was a tall werewolf with tan skin. "In magic class, we'll learn about gems and spheres. After that, we'll start learning how to harness your power. If you are lucky, you'll be powerful enough to have your gem turn into a sphere. That is rare for kids as young as you guys are," Mr. Jadu continued to ramble on until the bell rang. Music wasn't anything special either. After music, it was at last lunchtime.
