I always see her walking on the same road I take everyday. It's not a coincidence though since we go to the same university.

Everyone knows her. She's quite popular. She's pretty and funny. No wonder why everyone falls for her.

"Dad, Mom, I'm going already!" I yelled as I rushed to tie my shoelaces. I'm gonna be late again, aigoo.

"Did you eat your breakfast, sweety?" Mom asked as they went downstairs to send me off. I finished tying my shoelaces and got up.

"I did, mom. Don't worry," I said and swung my backpack to my shoulders.

"The Kim's are gonna be here tonight for dinner so you should be here beforehand," Dad says and nod at me.

"Yes, Dad," I replied and bowed. They would expect me to play the piano, that's why. The Kim's are our family friends and I'm close with their daughter Jiwoo.

"Very well. Be careful on your way to school."

"See you later, sweety."

I nodded at them and waved before turning my heel to walk away.

On my way to the bus stop, I saw her again. We were about to cross paths but I slowed my pace and pretended to be on my phone. She seemed to not notice me, which is a good thing.

Once she got on the bus, it was my turn to fasten my pace or else I'll be left behind. She sat on the front row seats while I sat at the last row and put on my earphones. I know she knows me because her friends and my friends are mutuals. I always get shy interacting with them so I always find an excuse whenever they plan to hang out.

"Gyuri-yah! You almost missed the first bell. What took you so long?" Hayoung asked as soon as I sat next to her. I sighed.

"I thought the bus was a turtle because the speed was below average," it was true but the thing that made me almost miss the bell was because I slowed my pace since she was walking ahead of me.

"It's a good thing that Ms. Lee still hasn't arrived. Anyway, do you want to hang out later?"

I thought for a moment. "Who's gonna be there?" I just wanted to make sure.

Hayoung looked at me suspiciously and narrowed her eyes on me, "Just me and Saerom. Why? Are you expecting someone else?" She then wriggled her eyebrows.

I rolled my eyes at her and scoffed, "I wasn't."

"Alright then," Hayoung chuckled as we prepared for the class since Ms. Lee is already in the room.

When lunch time came, I went to the lockers first and slid a letter to a certain locker then sped up to the music room. I plan to practice my piece at this time since I wasn't really up for lunch.

I continued playing some songs when the music room's door opened. My eyes widen at the sight and pretended to act cool afterwards.

"Uh, hi. Sorry for barging in. I was just looking for Seoyeon and I guess she's not here," she says in a gentle voice that's soothing in the ears.

Ahh, yes. Seoyeon is our mutual friend and is also into music. We sometimes jam along and practice together, with her playing the guitar and me with either a piano, violin or flute.

I smiled awkwardly and looked elsewhere, "Um. Unfortunately, she's not here. Maybe she's with Chaeyoung or Nagyung?"

She then smiled and looked around for a second. "I think you're right. Well... um, I'll get going. Sorry for the inconvenience again.." she went to the exit but turned around once again. "..... you play the piano so well by the way." She gave me one last smile before going out completely.

While me, I was blushing madly like a tomato at the compliment she gave. Okay, relax Gyuri. It was just a compliment and it meant nothing more.

"Unnie, where have you been? You missed out lunch."

I bumped into Jiheon on the way to the cafeteria to get some snack. Hunger just paid me a visit just now.

"I was at the music room practicing. I wasn't really hungry though.... not until now," I said. She giggled and gave me a pat in the head.

"Sorry, unnie. But I have to get to class right now since I still have to review for a quiz later. I can't accompany you there," she says in an apologetic voice. I smiled at her. Our maknae is really thoughtful.

I ruffled her hair and chuckled, "No worries, Heon-ah. I'm fine going there alone."

"Okay then, I'll see you later, unnie," she smiled brightly and skipped across the hallway.

I continued my journey to the cafeteria. I planned to just get a box of orange juice and a burger.

At a distance, I saw Jiwon and her friends with Hayoung and Saerom with them. She was also there.

I hurriedly paid for my food and quietly turned my back at them, aiming for the exit just so I could not be noticed.

But I guess luck wasn't on my side when Jiwon yelled my name across the cafeteria.

"Gyuri-unnie! Over here! Come and join us!"

I closed my eyes tightly as I halted my steps and slowly turned at their direction. Everyone was waving and smiling, but one particular made eye contact with me as she smiled.

I really didn't want to approach them so I just signalled that I still have something to do and that I have to go quickly.

"Yah! Don't make some excuses now. Our next class was cancelled, remember?" Hayoung said as she stood and dragged me over to their table.

"I still have to practice, guys. You know I have a recital next month, right?" I sighed and looked away, feeling their gazes at me.

"We know that, Gyuri-yah. But you also know that skipping lunch is not good. So just sit down and eat properly. What did you get anyway?" Saerom says and made me sit down beside her and Hayoung.

"I.... I just needed a snack, that's it," I say, convincing them, which didn't work.

"I'm so close to think that you don't want us to hang out with you, unnie," Jiwon said. I raised my head and looked at her with wide eyes.

"What? That's not true! I.... I'm just very busy, that's all," I defended.

She just pouted and leaned on her bestfriend's shoulder while munching on her kimbap.

"But it's not an excuse to skip lunch. Here, have some of Jisun's homemade kimbap. It's the best," Hayoung says and pushed the container with a half-filled kimbap to me.

I stiffened at the mention of the girl beside me.

Well, of course. She's the president of the cooking club in the university so what do I expect.

With much hesitation, I sighed and took a bite on the kimbap. All of them had smiles on their faces, including the girl on my side.

It's definitely the best kimbap I ever had, but I won't tell it to them.
