I was about to exit the school grounds when I saw Jisun standing not far from the gate. As soon as she saw me, she waved and called me over.

My heart was beating at rapid speed but my feet were glued to the ground.

When she noticed that I was just looking at her, she was the one who approached me. She had that beautiful shy smile painted in her face.

"Um, hey unnie... I was actually waiting for you. I wanted to give this back and thank you for letting me borrow it earlier," she said and handed me my jacket that I gave a while ago.

When I went to take it from her, our hands brushed with each other. And I don't know, I felt like I was electrified. I sure hope she didn't notice how my hand twitched.

I contained the blush on my face before responding, "No problem, wouldn't let you be uncomfortable like that anyway."

With that, I once again saw her cheeks turn into a slight shade of pink.

"Oh, um, thanks again, Gyuri-unnie," she says while looking away. I smiled.

If only I had the guts to talk to her more, I would. But, I didn't have those so....

"Hey, isn't that your bus ride? You should hurry up now and get home safely," I say and pointed at the newly arrived bus near the school entrance.

She looked behind her then back to me. "Isn't that your ride, too? Don't you want to join me?" She knows that because I know she sees me riding that bus sometimes.

I would love to! But I'm just chickening out knowing that you'll be there too.

I smiled and shook my head lightly, "It is, but I still have somewhere to go. You can go ahead," I told her.

I saw a glimpse of what seemed like disappointment in her face.... or was I just imagining it? Maybe the latter.

"Oh, okay then. I'll see you tomorrow, Gyuri-unnie," she says and waved a little before heading to the bus.

I sighed. I shouldn't get too close to her, or else I might not stop myself from falling even deeper for her.

I think you have the most beautiful smile in this world. Your eyes shine the most when you smile so you must keep it. You'll never know, you make someone smile as well, or complete their day when they see it. Just like me.

I folded the paper and placed it in my pocket.

I asked the instructor that I'll be using the bathroom so he lets me.
While walking through the corridor, I passed right at Jisun's locker and secretly inserted it there, before walking away like nothing happened. Good thing that classes are going on so there weren't students around yet.

I smiled and let out a satisfied breath and went back to the classroom.

"Gyuri-yah, come and eat lunch with us," Hayoung says and nudged me.

"Nah, thanks anyway but I'm gonna have it at the music room," I said and gave her an apologetic smile. She frowned.

"Come on, Gyul. You need to start socializing more. The girls like having you around, but it seems that they can't reach you," she says.

It made me stop on my tracks. But why would they want to hang around me? I'm not that fun to be with.

"Hanyang, I do socialize. It's just that... I don't want to get too attached because at the end, it will just be me. No one's gonna stay," I said to her. I already told her about this, she's just stubborn. Although I get where she's coming from.

"You don't know that, Gyuri-yah. Not everyone is like that. Someone or some people wants you in their lives but you're shutting them off. Give them a chance, they're genuine," Hayoung says and placed a hand on my shoulder. I know that she just wants the best for me. I smiled and placed my hand on top of hers.

"I'll try, Hanyang. I'll try to think about everything that you said to me and maybe give them a chance," I said. I always thought that she was right all along, it's just that I'm just too scared to take a leap.

But now, I'll try it, for real. Because I saw how the girls tried to make me comfortable around them and I saw that they weren't faking any of it.

She smiled brightly, and she resembled a raccoon with that. "So you're coming with me?"

"For now, I'll pass... but tomorrow, I promise I'll join you guys already," I assured her. She pouted like a duck, that it made me chuckle.

"Yah."

"Tomorrow, Hanyang. I promise from the bottom of my toe," I say and raised my right hand. She laughed at my gesture. "I'll join you on your way there instead."

We walked towards the cafeteria. As we did, I saw the girls on one of the tables. They were all laughing at Jiwon's antics again. But, what caught my attention was Jisun and Seoyeon who looks like they have a world of their own. They were laughing at each other and they were too close.

My heart felt like it was punched hard. The smile I had earlier was replaced by a frown.
I should not feel this because, who am I to do so?

"Well, there you go. I'll get going now. But I'll join you tomorrow so don't worry," I said to Hayoung. She smiles and nodded like a kid then sprinted towards the girls.

All of them saw me and gestured me to go to them, but I just smiled and nodded before walking away. But before that, I saw a bright smile that faded when I declined their invitation.
