"G'night," the boy with silver hair called, watching you catch up with your cousin and his friend before making his own way to the dorms.

-~:~-

"Hey," you greeted, going to stand beside your cousin.

"Yay, we can go," he silently cheered.

This was... really awkward to say the least. The ace of the team was stoic as ever, you didn't know what to talk about and worst of all: Satori didn't even seem to notice that the air was so thick with awkwardness you could cut it with a knife.

"You play well," a deep voice spoke. You looked up. The captain of the team was looking right at you.

"Uhh, thanks," you said, not really sure what else you should add or say about the situation.

"Ooh~" Satori cooed from between you two. He then nudged you with his elbow. "Wakatoshi doesn't say that often, you know?"

Okay? you smiled, a bit awkward. And what am I supposed to do with that information?

"So," Satori started.

Finally, you let out a sigh of relief, finally he starts a conversation. I mean I could've done it by myself but there is no way I'm starting a conversation when I'm walking with a stranger- Why is he with us anyway?

"Why don't you ever play so strong on TV? It seemed so effortless now," your cousin continued.

Despite the fact that Satori asked the question, you could feel both of the male's gazes on you as you continued to stare at the pavement. "Well, my coach used to say that if I played too strong and accidentally hurt someone through it, we'd get disqualified and when I didn't hold back, he'd bench me so I had to hold back."

"What?! That's absolutely ridiculous!" Satori exclaimed, bewildered.

You looked up at him. "Is it, though?"

"Yes! Everyone who plays volleyball knows they can get hurt in the process and they have to be ready for it," Satori explained, making you nod thoughtfully at the new perspective that you never really gave much thought to before.

You fell silent, thoughts swirling in your head as you tuned out the outside world, subconsciously following Satori as he led you through the alleys and roads that were unfamiliar to you despite the fact that you had walked through them once.

You didn't even notice when Ushiwaka left, departing to go to his own home. You were too stuck in analyzing what was true and what was false, what was new and what was old, what was past, what was present, and what was future.

"Hey, we're here," Satori's voice shook you from your thoughts.

"Oh," you said, looking up. You had indeed made it, you had come home. And another thing had come, too. A decision that had grown from your new perspective of viewing things.

You weren't going to hold back while playing volleyball ever again.
