sixteen years later

Even though years have passed since I last was here, it still feels the same. Parents hug their children goodbye so they can visit Hogwarts for the first time. It feels unreal knowing I once was this innocent girl going to Hogwarts. I remember it like it was yesterday. Draco and Theo were so excited. We bought candy and talked about our future years at Hogwarts like happy children. I smile, thinking back, knowing how different things are today. Mattheo walks up to me with the bags in his hands.

"Are you alright, darling?" I smile at him, nodding.

"It feels unreal, doesn't it?"

It's been sixteen years since the war, and I couldn't have dreamed of a happier life. Mattheo and I moved into the house by the lake, and a few months later, Iris and Draco bought the house just down the street. Theo moved to London City, where he started his own business and found a girl named Olive. Five years later, I got pregnant with our firstborn baby girl, Leona. Three years later, we welcomed our son Ezra. Iris and Draco have two children, Aliyah and Atlas. I look beside me, seeing Mattheo holding Ezra's hand and Leona looking nervously at the wall.

"We're going to run through that wall, and then we will see the train. Alright?" Ezra looks excited, but Leona seems nervous.

"Dont be nervous. It's your father's first time, too." Mattheo glared at me.

"It is? Dad, are you scared?" Mattheo looks down at his daughter, and I smile.

"I'm not. I know I have the bravest children by my side." My heart warms as he says it, and I smile, holding Leona's hand.

"Come on, Dad. I want to run with you," Ezra says excitedly, and Mattheo laughs at his son. He is a copy of his father.

"Are you okay running with me, honey?" Leona looks down, and Ezra and Mattheo run through the wall.

"Hey? What's going on." I sit down and look at my daughter, but she won't meet my gaze.

"It's okay. You can tell me anything, " she says, looking up at me.

"I'm scared I'll mess up. You always had friends at Hogwarts. What if I dont?" My heart breaks hearing her talk about herself like that.

"Leona, you are the bravest, most beautiful girl I have ever met. I know you will make friends and have a wonderful time at Hogwarts. And when Christmas comes, you will return home to us. We are always by your side, always and forever." She smiles at me and holds up her pinky finger.

"Promise me you'll send me letters every Sunday." I pinky promise with her smiling.

"Knowing your father, he will send one every day." Leona shakes her head, smiling.

"No, only once a week." I smile, nodding.

"Once a week, it's a promise." She hugs me tightly.

"Will you hold my hand?" I smile, grabbing her hand.

"Leona, there is one thing you should know. I will hold your hand through everything in your life. No matter what happens, I will always be here. Your father, too. You're my first and only daughter, and we love you very much." She smiles at me, and I look towards the wall.

"You ready?" She nods, and we run through the wall, and the train shows up in front of us.

"There you are," Mattheo smiles, and I walk up to them with Leona by my side. "Is everything okay?" he asks me, and I smile.

"Just first-year nerves." I hold his hand, and Leona looks around the station.

"First-year students, this way," I hear a man say, and I smile when I see Leona pack her bags.

"Bye, Mom, bye, Dad." She hugs us both tightly, and I kiss her goodbye.

"Bye, my little girl. Stay safe, okay?" Mattheo kisses her on the head, and I smile.

"I'll see you in three months. Bye." She hugs her brother before she runs toward the train.

"Eleven years went fast, huh?" Mattheo smiles at me, and I nod, wiping a tear away. They did.

"In three years, we have the house for ourselves." He kisses me passionately, and I hear Ezra complain by our side.

"Disgusting." I laugh at him.

"You are just like Uncle Draco." Ezra laughs at Draco's name.

"Can we meet them? Please. I wanna meet Aliyah." I look at Mattheo, who smiles.

"Sure, little man." He ruffs his son's hair, and I laugh as Ezra rolls his eyes.

"I'm not little." We all laugh.

I have lost a lot in my life, and there have been times when I have wanted to give up. But I've learned how to be strong and continue fighting for the good things in life. And thanks to that, I have the best things I could have ever asked for. I have friends and family who I love more than life itself. I wouldn't be here today without them. The train leaves, and we all wave goodbye for this time.

"Ready to go, darling?" Mattheo meets my gaze with a smile on his face. No one will ever understand how much love I have for this man.

"I'm ready." He grabs my hand, and we leave the train station laughing at one of Ezra's stupid jokes.

THE END

-
Wow, where do I begin? Thank you so so much for reading this book. I can't thank you enough for the love and support and for helping me complete this story. It's been days where I've just wanted to delete it or start from the beginning, but you've always helped me get my motivation back. It breaks my heart to say goodbye to the characters I've had by my side for so many months (years atp).
Rosie and Iris will always have my heart as the first characters I came up with. The friendship and love this book has will always help me get through things in life, and I will always remember my time writing this book as my happy place. This book has helped me become a better writer, helped me through dark times, and changed me as a person.
Thank you so much for this time. I hope you still want to follow my journey with my upcoming books.
Lots of love, Bloody Swift 🤍
