So, I'm actually late with this but I didn't even think to check and see if I posted somewhere when I first started a series, let alone this one. But I left a note for myself in IM: MHA Season 1 that I started the series in May 2021... which means... while I am late on this... WE HAVE HAD ONE FULL YEAR OF GOING ON THIS JOURNEY WITH TAKUMI!! How crazy is that?!
I just want to thank all of my Iron Man: My Hero Academia readers, whether you are one of the ones that was there from the start or one of the more recent ones that has come across this series and decided to stick around... you are all amazing.

I know the MHA fandom, and recently the Marvel fandom as well thanks to complains about Phase Four of the MCU, has received bad reputations for having a toxic fanbase, but I'm happy to say that I have interacted with amazing Marvel and MHA fans who have been nothing but supportive and loving towards this story and towards Takumi Sakai. You are all amazing and you make writing this series so much more enjoyable. You are all the best!

How the idea of Iron Man: My Hero Academia came to be...
After I watched the first Season of My Hero Academia, I found that I was hooked on the series. I loved its world, and I was interested in how the story would evolve in a way I haven't been since watching/reading Naruto and Dragon Ball. Many readers requested for me to write a Spider-Man: My Hero Academia type series, something I still intend on doing at some point, and as I started to think of ideas on how it would work as I was watching My Hero Academia Season 2. Then I saw an online debate... Would the story of My Hero Academia work if Deku remained quirkless and he was still able to find a way into UA's hero course. I wasn't sure how that would work, but it did inspire me to think about how an Iron Man type hero would work in the world of MHA. (And since I'm not a DC fan, I never considered thinking about how a Batman type hero would work until well after I started this series... although I'm sure if I was more knowledgeable of DC heroes that would have been a fun idea to experiment with.) I figured it would have only worked if an armored vigilante managed to make a good case for his own worth and value, and suddenly I had the idea of the plot of Iron Man: My Hero Academia Season 1.

Now I knew I didn't want to write a teenage Tony Stark. On paper that sounds like a bad idea, and even if I could pull it off... there is no way I could beat out the amazing Teenage Tony that was featured in Iron Man: Armored Adventures. So, I played with the idea of making Midoriya Iron Man... but then I saw many different fan fics of Deku becoming some other kind of heroes. What if Deku became Spider-Man, what if he became a Captain America type character, what if he became Thor, what if he became this or that... and then I realized that if I made Midoriya Iron Man, I'd have to put myself into the head of Midoriya and try to depict him as accurately as possible like I try to do with Naruto and Aang in my Naruto/Avatar series... and I kind of wanted to write a character where I could evolve him as I wanted to... so I started to think of OC ideas.

The idea behind Takumi was to frame him as if he could be an alternate universe Midoriya. Two All Might fanboys with a seemingly impossible dream to become heroes. Two boys who are rescued by Pro Heroes and the two who ask the all-important question on if quirkless people can be heroes. Two boys who then prove their heroism by putting their lives on the line where things counted (for Midoriya it was when Bakugo was caught by the sludge villain and for Takumi it was during his first rescue with his bulky Mark 1 armor) but also people with stark differences. While Midoriya wants to be the number 1 hero and the next symbol of peace, originally trying to base himself on All Might completely before he eventually starts to become his own One for All user, Takumi wants to be a symbol for the underrepresented and the forgotten. While Midoriya has suffered bullying for being a quirkless person, Takumi has seen rejection and death in the face and had to accept it as a possibility in his life as a child.
