~your pov~

I was laying in bed waiting for Venti to get home. It was a Friday, so he was out at the tavern with Keaya and Rosaria, as they didn't work on the weekends. Venti normally didn't come home too late but today it was different. It was almost 1:00am and he was still out. I sighed and sat up, rubbing my eyes. Although i was annoyed, a feeling of worry bubbled in my stomach, is he alright? Just then my phone started ringing, and to my relief it was Venti. I picked up the phone and answered it. 'Hey, is this y/n?' It was Diluc. I sighed, with Diluc answering the phone Venti is probably too drunk to even stand. 'Yes this is y/n, what do you need Diluc?' i said. I put the phone down on my bed and turned on the speaker so i could get dressed. I already knew what he was going to say. 'Well, i expect you know why I called, Of course i will have to take the other issue, Keaya, into my own hands, but may I ask for some help with Venti considering your his partner.' He asked, he sounded stressed. I hummed in agreement. 'Thank you y/n, atleast someone here is down to Earth.' he huffed. Then he hung up the phone. I picked up my phone and my keys and walked out of my bedroom into the living room. I put on my coat and walked to my car. Of course Venti had decided to get drunk, considering how much ive made him cut down, i suppose Friday is his only getaway. I sighed as i pulled up to the tavern. I could see Venti and Keaya through the window, and it didn't look great to be honest.

'Y/n, what are you *hic* doing here?' Venti said once he saw me. His words were slurred and he had the hiccups. 'Im taking you back home, do you even know what time it is?' I said. He shrugged and giggled. 'Does he have to leave so soon?' keaya said from the other side of the table, he looked just as drunk as Venti. I nodded and sat down next to Venti. He rested his head on my shoulder. 'five more *hic* minutes, pleeeease.' he whined. 'No venti, you have had enough tonight and its late.' He looked disappointed. 'can u stand Venti?' i asked. He shrugged again. 'Well can you try?' I swear what i was saying to him was going in one ear and out the other. He got up off his chair and wobbled. I caught him and he wrapped his arm around my neck. 'Sorry.' he slurred, trying to steady himself. I was seriously going to have to carry this guy. I pulled him closer to me and lifted him up. 'H-Hey y/n, put me *Hic* down!' Venti said, trying to escape out of my arms. I tightened my grip and started walking towards the door. I looked at Diluc who mouthed a thank you. I managed to get him out of the tavern and then sat him on one of ther chairs outside, hoping the fresh air would sober him up a bit. He gripped onto me and pulled me down when i tried to pull away. He was staring into my eyes. 'Your *hic* eyes are beautiful.' he said, trying hard to focus his gaze on my eyes. 'Thank you.' I said, kissing his forehead.

Apart from getting Venti too the car, the journey home wasnt that bad. I just wish he would tell me if he was going to do things like this instead of me getting a call from Diluc off of his phone. I unlocked the door beforehand and then went back to the car. I picked him up off the seat and nudged the door open. I walked over to the couch and he fell out of my arms. I walked back to the door to lock it again and sighed. Mental preparation was needed if i was going to get this idiot to bed. I felt someone wrap there arms around my waist. 'Venti, how did u get over here.' i said. He giggled, 'With great *hic* difficulty.' i turned around to face him, he had a big grin on his face. 'Alright, since u made it over here i dont supposed you can make it to bed?' i asked. He shook his head and snuggled into me, basically asking me to pick him up again. I groaned and lifted him up. 'Atleast try to control yourself instead of drinking until u cant even walk.' I thought, walking into the bedroom and dropping him onto the bed. He curled up into the sheets and held his hands out, gesturing for me to get in the bed with him. 'Hang on a minute.' i said, walking back to the kitchen.

I took out a glass and ran the tap. I was almost positive that Venti had probably drank no water or even tried to sober himself up in the slightest. Atleast he was in bed, cuz there is no way he would be able to get up now. 'y/nnnnnn, where did *hic* you gooooo?' Venti whined from the other room. I sighed and filled the glass, then went back to the bedroom. 'Im here you idiot, now sit up, i got you some water.' i said, putting the glass of water on the bedside table. He propped himself up against the back of the bed and fell onto my shoulder. I picked up the glass and half passed it to him, one hand still holding the glass incase he spilt it.

Who knew drinking water could be so difficult, but eventually i was satisfied with how much he had drank and put the glass back on the side. I layed down and he layed next to me, hugging my arm so i couldn't go anywhere else. 'y/n.....' he mumbled, shuffling closer to me and hugging me tightly. I hummed, acknowledging his voice. 'im sorry y/n, p-please dont be mad at me.....' he said, his voice wobbled and he clenched my shirt. I turned over to look at him and his eyes were watering with tears. 'Hey, dont cry, im not angry i Promise.' i said, wiping his eye with my thumb. He sniffed and squeezed his eyes shut in attempt to get rid of his tears. I wrapped my arm around him, hushing him in hopes that he would settle down. Dealing with Venti was like dealing with a child, sometimes it can be hard, but i still love him all the same. He yawned and his hands relaxed, making him shiver. 'i love you, you know that, right?' he whispered. I nodded. 'Good.' he said, and he kissed my forehead. I continued to play with his hair as he sunk into his pillow, a subtle smile on his face. 'Will you...take care of me Tomorrow?' He whispered. 'mhm, now cmon, go to sleep.' i mumbled, closing my eyes. Venti moved his arm down to my waist and held me close to him.

'I love you.' were the last words i heard that night.
