~third person POV ig~

Venti was never really the type to get jealous, but there was a feeling inside of him recently that he couldn't seem to get rid off.

He was walking with y/n, hand in hand walking towards the adventurers guild bulletin board to see their next commission. He had specifically asked Katherine to pair the two of them up today because he wanted time with y/n, just them.

As they approached the bulletin board y/n let go of his hand and sped up their pace. He was confused, and then he realized. Stupid Kaeya was there.

He balled his hand into a fist. y/n had caught up to Kaeya and was now hugging him. He stared at him, disgusted. Kaeya knows that they are together, i mean, who doesn't know?! He was convinced that Kaeya was doing it to get him annoyed.

He walked over and grabbed y/n's hand again. 'So, whats next?' He asked, sounding completely harmless. y/n read the bulletin board. 'It says we are in windrise next, just a few hilichurl camps that need to be cleared out.' they said, turning back to Venti. He nodded. 'May i come with? i have a free schedule today.' Kaeya asked.

Venti was quick to answer. 'Nope, only requires two people. It would be more efficient for you to take on another task.' Venti said. A smirk appeared on his face as he stared at Kaeya. Kaeya stared back with a look of confusion. Venti's smirk faded quickly and he turned around and started to walk away. He was still holding tightly onto his partners hand so all they could do was shout a goodbye.

When they were out of the walls of mondstadt, y/n elbowed venti in the shoulder. He yelped in pain. 'What was that for?!' y/n looked at him with disappointment. 'Yknow, you didn't have to be so rude to him, hes my friend.' they said. Venti mumbled a sorry and they continued walking.

They made it to windrise in only a few minutes. y/n was searching for camps while Venti trailed behind, in his own little world. 'Venti! Are you even looking?' y/n raised their voice slightly. Venti snapped back to reality and jogged back to y/n's side. He sighed.

After clearing all the camps they could find, they sat under the big tree in windrise. Venti pulled out his lyre, but soon put it away as he had nothing to play. He put his hand on top of y/n's. They turned their head to look at him. 'Yknow, naybe the reason i was so rude to Kaeya earlier was because he was near you.' Venti reasoned.

He explained his random anger and the feeling in his stomach. Y/n laughed. 'Oh Venti! Your so jealous!' They said between their laughter. Venti pulled them into a hug. 'seriously y/n, i love you too much to lose you to some wannabe pirate.' He said. Y/n laughed again. 'You know i love you Venti, and Kaeya is NOT a wannabe pirate.' they replied. They both started to laugh.

Venti plucked a sweet flower from the ground and slid it in y/n's hair. 'Look, its almost as sweet as you~' he teased. Y/n laughed at the cheesy joke and took Venti's hat. 'Hey!' he yelled.

They had lost track of time playfighting over hats and flowers that they didn't notice the sun setting. Y/n pointed to it and got Venti's attention. They both leaned against the tree again, watching the sunset.

'Y/n, you really do mean alot to me.' venti said, pulling them close into a hug. Y/n hummed in response, focused on the few stars that were starting to fade in.

They sat there for a little bit longer until it was fully dark. Only the stars and the moon lit up the sky now and everything was quiet. Venti yawned and strummed his lyre. He had been playing a gentle tune along with the wind from since they started watching the sunset. He knew y/n liked that song, so he played it almost every time he had the chance while he was around them.

Y/n also yawned. They were starting to get tired. They took the teapot out from their bag and placed it on the grass. 'do you want to go home?' Venti asked. They nodded 'Im very tired.' venti smiled and picked up the teapot. He closed his eyes, y/n doing the same. And just like that, they were home.

Venti fell asleep that night to the comfort of knowing that he was y/n's number 1. The worry that was in his mind dissapeared and he relaxed. He wrapped his arms around y/n's waist and sighed. 'Love you traveler...' he whispered.
