Luna was suspended for the following school week. It was either that or a whole month of Saturday detention, but she had no way of getting there. When the city bus dropped her back off at her apartment, she went in there to set her bag down, as well as to reapply her eye makeup.

When she finished touching it up, Luna was heading towards the cafe that she liked going to. It always made her feel better whenever she was down. Today was a day where she really needed it.

As she could see the cafe in the distance, Luna began to hear police sirens, followed by people running and screaming in terror. This was nothing unusual for her to see, and she knew exactly what was going on.

The notorious gang known as the Bad Guys were at another one of their heists. They were the biggest thieves in the city, if not the whole world. Being near them was enough to scare anyone.

As if it was nothing, Luna just kept walking. Besides the police, she was the only one who did not fear the Bad Guys. Getting bullied on a daily basis didn't give her much to worry about from them. On top of that, all their schemes fascinated her, and she never saw any criminals as skilled as them, besides the Crimson Paw.

Five minutes later, she arrived at the cafe. She walked up to the counter to order something, but as she was staring at the menu, her thoughts were interrupted by the TV plastered on the wall. It was on the news station, where the city's (annoying) main reporter Tiffany Fluffit was now discussing the recent heist pulled by none other than the Bad Guys.

"Oh my god!" one of the patrons exclaimed. "That jewelry store isn't far from here! What if they come here next?"

While everyone else in the cafe looked at the screen in fear and asked each other questions, Luna shrugged it off. Clearly, she wasn't fazed by this.

When it was her turn, Luna told the barista her order, and she did not hesitate to get started on it. She must've wanted to distract herself from hearing the news.

"How could you not be afraid of them?" The barista asked when she handed Luna her salted caramel hot chocolate. "What if they got to you?"

"I'm just not," Luna said before turning around and walking to the first empty table she saw. She sat down and took her headphones out of her purse, putting them on. She pulled out her phone and chose a song, listening to it as she sipped on her warm beverage.

Unbeknownst to her, the doors opened, and in walked a group of boys that appeared to be her age. They were scanning the cafe, looking for a table that was big enough for all of them to sit at, when they noticed Luna.

"Oh wow, I didn't know Halloween was moved to January."

"I want to get a better look at her."

As Luna listened to the song that was currently playing, she couldn't help but feel something was off. She took her headphones off, turned around, and saw two young boys looming over her, staring at her intensely.

Seeing they were caught, they immediately backed off and went to their table.

"She's so creepy!" One of them snickered. "You guys need to see this."

"Man, I wish I knew what she was listening to. Probably some demon crap."

Luna put her headphones back on, trying to drown them out. However, that did not stop them from taking turns to "go to the bathroom." They just used it as an excuse to walk by her table. They passed by her slowly, trying to take in as much detail as possible for a second or two.

And they call me the creepy one.

Already annoyed by this, she stood up. She wasn't finished with her hot chocolate yet, but it didn't matter. It was in a to-go cup, so she could just finish it as she was walking around the city. She had enough of this. She opened the doors, which is when she heard a loud BOOM! in the distance.

Luna jumped back, startled by the sudden noise. Everyone else in the cafe heard it too, and they all had worried looks on their faces. Having the urge to investigate, Luna stepped outside. What she saw next caused her to feel even more confused.

People were running away from the location of the sound, while others were running towards it, desperate to know what was going on. A pile of smoke could be seen rising. How much destruction had occurred?

What happened? She wondered.

Not wanting to get caught up in the panicked crowd, Luna decided to go home, hoping she could obtain some information later.
